Default Pepis- Jose Vasquez

After further investigation on my part it has been decided that Jose needs to take his charade somewhere else. He is not on the board anymore. (banned). I am reluctant to ban folks but I don't want people, who I think aren't on the up and up, on this board.

He had a chance to try to explain himself yesterday after the evidence was laid out before him, but he chose to remain silent.

He said many times that he never sold any of the packs that he fabricated, but the evidence clearly showed that he did.

Thanks, Leon, for keeping this board safe.

Leon, not to pry and if you are able to disclose, did your further investigations reveal any additional details that have not already been brought to light about this topic?

I'm also curious about this.

I respect your decision to protect your board, but there are benefits to having him around. He does expose fraud every now and again and, like they say,
keep your friends close and your enemies closer.

"As a gentleman when you see a mistake like that the thing to do is to contact
the seller and notify him of his mistake! not posted on a forum as a joke in an attempt to ridicule him, that's not what man does!" Jose Vasquez

Who's un-manly now mofo?

My decision was based on the inconsistencies I saw in his stories and some other information I gathered this morning, which I can't really say too much about. At the end of the day there is no doubt in my mind that a lot of what Jose said is true. Unfortunately, with things I saw, and people I spoke with, there seemed to be too many smoke and mirrors issues. And also, I thought long and hard about the decision to not have him, and his expertise, on the board. To me, the pendulum tipped a bit in his disfavor. I think he went about what he tried to accomplish the wrong way.

I think you are right Leon. Jose has knowledge about unopened cellos and it is extensive. It is good for him to share this knowledge. The stuff he pulled by forging material and getting it past psa is ugly. Also his grammar or lack of it was hard to decipher.
His alleged contact with authorities was presented to us (the board) as if he were gods' gift to the hobby and the fbi.
Then to find that he sold some of his $hit turned the whole shebang despicable. You did the right thing. Dave.

I'd been wanting to ask him his take on some of the legit packs that seem bad at first. Mostly miswraps and other stuff packed oddly at the end of production.

I guess I should have asked when I had the chance.
Overall though it sounds like it's a good thing he's gone. The conflicting stories only made everything he posted look suspect.

I opened a box of miswraps once - weird weird box. One pack had something like 23 cards instead of 15 and no gum. The next had only 5, but extra gum. The guy had miswrap cellos too, but I didn't buy any since he was selling star packs so I figured the cellos had been searched.
