Schedule
I had never seen this before but its a great little pick up, it is 17" x 30" (so nice a nice size). It is made of canvas and is in pristine condition. If anybody knows about these pieces I would love to hear more about them. Thanks

Always wanted one of these. 2013 main field home plate from yankee stadium. Yankees went 5-2 during a 7 game homestand. Some big things during this homestand included 2 walk off wins, 2 blown saves by Rivera, A-rod first homer of 2013, Miguel Cabrera 3 homeruns, Mike Trout several hits including a homer and Alfonso Soriano became only the third live ball ERA player to have back to back 6 plus RBI games. He ended up hitting 5 homers during this homestand.

Very cool, even if it is D **gers. What size is it? I would love to have something like that for the Giants.

Monte Pearson 1939 Merry Christmas Happy New Year bat mechanical pencil
In 1938 the Yankees Monte Pearson became the 1st to throw a no-hitter in Yankee Stadium.
Here is a 1939 mechanical pencil shaped like a bat with Monte Pearson's facsimile autograph. Neat item off of eBay... Last edited by Scott Garner; 07-17-2015 at 09:31 AM. |

Just picked up this c. 1923 Yankee Stadium box chair. (If anyone is interested in purchasing a Yankee Stadium 1923 folding slat-backed seat, please let me know.)

Very nice seat Dave! Going along with the seats. I picked up a Briggs/Tiger Stadium box seat from 1912. The red seat is from Engel Stadium in Chattanooga. Babe Ruth, Harmon Killebrew, Satchel Paige and Negro League teams have played there.

I was finally able to cross a long sought after item off my wantlist. Mike Egner (the pennant guy; Lefty147 on the board) picked this up in Missouri and sold it to me. After some hard fought negotiations , Mike got about 60% of what he was after and I paid double what I wanted . Mike is in Boise and I'm in Salt Lake...he didn't want to ship it and I didn't want to drive six hours and burn $125 in gas...as it so happens, I have a Las Vegas friend whose son lives in Boise. He had a trip planned anyway, so he picked it up and hand delivered it to me. I spent some time cleaning it up and put a new 15' cord on it with an in-line switch. I think it ended up where it was meant to be . The two shown in another picture are two I already owned. I think there's one more...

Thanks. It kind of screams "1960's," doesn't it? I forgot to mention, my new acquisition also contains a San Francisco 49er's team photo and 9 other, non sport screens. They scroll manually by using two knobs on the right hand side.

My only flea market find from this morning. The bat in the photo is a nice Spalding Gold Medal. Also picked up a Ebbets field postcard.

Rob really cool piece and the perfect location for it above the door. Finding space in your memorabilia room must be a challenge with your amazing and extensive Giants collection. Thanks for sharing the interesting story of how you managed to bring it on home. Adam

I just realized that I'd posted this in the pre-wwII section by mistake...sorry about that.
These don't compare to some of the items you guys are throwing down, but I was super excited to add them to my 1948 Bowman set. Can see the rest of the set here: http://www.net54baseball.com/showthread.php?t=195896 |

Those sre really cool but I don't know the "story" on them. Did Spading sell them to whoever might want to hand them out? What year(s) were they produced? How many would you say are in circulation? Are some poses/positions rarer than others?

I haven't an idea how many are of each but I know that they are tough to find. I have always heard that the catcher is the toughest but I have also heard that the batter is too. They are quite big and heavy btw. |

Trophy
1920's to 30's I believe, maybe Mark or someone can chime in here who is more certain than I
|

||||
|
||||
Yes.... 1920s to early 30s. All are rare, especially in nice unrestored condition.
The Batter Trophy is thought to be the rarest, with the Catcher not far behind. The Catcher is considered by many to be the most attractive. So it's rarity + aesthetic appeal usually account for it to realize the highest price of the five. These are now turning up on a far less frequent basis, so (based on laws of supply and demand) prices are on the rise. These are huge trophies, and most people are taken aback the first time they see one in person. |

Here's two of the first pieces I found since moving to Montreal.
1. Tigers pennant. Not sure of the vintage, but glad to find it. 2. Gorgeous late 19th century bat? The bat is 35 3/4 in length, with just the very top of the barrel and knob painted black. There also seems to have been a thin ring of grey paint near the top of the barrel? |
