Default What's IGA?

Happened to check out the Probstein auctions on eBay and noticed that some of his cards were graded by an IGA card grading company. Does anyone know anything about them?

Thanks,
Scott

Beckett, yes.
GAI, cough, cough.

But IGA, help!

IGA is a grocery store I remember from my youth. They are probably as qualified to grade cards as the other clowns.

This forum is almost 15 years old. There are almost no 3-letter acronyms still available for an enterprising grading company that we haven't seen before.

does ISA suck? (from 2010... yeah, they did then and they do now)

BRGS, the grading company with an acronym that led to 'Hee Haw' jokes

CSA is not KSA, or is it? Are Canadians involved?

Wait, it's KSA! They're the Canadians!

AAA grading. From Hawaiian book-destroying criminal Roy Huff.

I think "XYZ", "PDQ" and "WTF" are still unused. Probably better that you start an auction house.

I would agree that they all give the same quality of product but one of them has sheeple lining up to pay a huge premium for their magic plastic holders.

If there ever is a "WTF" grading company I would have them grade some cards just for the flip.

Default Of course

There is altered stuff in all holders but there is far more in the fly by night company holders than there are percentage wise in Psa or sgc holders. Everyone knew the Wagner was trimmed.

You pretty much nailed it, Bill. I think you forgot the newest internet grading company though, OMG Grading.

I still have an IGA in my town. I'll have to take some cards over to have them graded.

Drop them off at the deli and take a number. All cards will be trimmed to the size you desire, no extra charge.

I agree with Leon IGA was much more fun.

Glyn Parson seems to know a lot about PSA so I would go with his 2 posts. He says it is stupid to compare ISA to PSA and that everyone knew the T206 Wagner was trimmed.

Now from that I get ISA is a stand up company that would not give preferential grades no matter who submitted it. Just my take and I could be wrong.
