I am sure others have mentioned it, but the 1964 Topps Giant set is a classic beauty - especially in nice condition. The fact that it is affordable is a huge bonus.

Storage is an issue.
Any suggestions?

If you're looking for something cheap but still cool, check out 1974 Fleer Pioneers of Baseball, only 28 cards and full of HOFers.

Sorry, not pre1970 but all the players are.

That is a pretty cool set and very reasonable. They aren't the standard size card though are they? I think that I need to update my parameters to exclude oversized. Messes with my storage options.

They are a little oversized, I keep my set in 6 pocket pages

At 77 cards, the set is a little large for me at this time. I do thank you for bringing it up though! Looks pretty cool.

I'll take on some bigger sets once I knock out the 54 Topps that I am working on. I'm a one at a time kinda guy.

With the cracking issues that I am reading about in another thread, I am not sure that I want to get involved with that set. Which is a bummer. It meets my wants/needs in a set.

I have personally discussed this a bunch of times over the years, but it seems the cracking of the Kellogg's cards is mainly an east coast (and I'm sure other areas) problem. Since being in Cali, with the dry heat and virtual lack of humidity, it seems to be a whole different ballgame. No crackage/bending in any of the 3-D cards I see at shows. Keep your eyes open at shops or card shows and see if the same thing is true for you down there in SoCal. You might feel like diving back in. Of course, don't risk buying any cards that are coming from the eastern seaboard.

Well, my set is in a binder with 4 cards per page- which works well for raw cards. Graded would be more of a challenge.

That's my personal issue. Since I don't keep cards in raw form.
