Interesting. Someone had a similar 10 Most Wanted Cards a few months ago. Here was my list from that thread:

1. 1933 Goudey Ruth - either the red or yellow portrait
2. N28 Oakley - got a deal for one, but don't have it yet so it counts
3. N162 Brouthers
4. Any K-zoo Bats card, but pref of a player w/Detroit connection
5. 1869 Peck and Snyder Reds
6. N29 Getzin (Getzien)
7. E107 any Detroit player
8. 19th Century card w/actual female player/players - not posed. Rob M had one for sale about 6 months ago - a cabinet I think that one was.
9. T227 Cobb
10. 1941 PB Gehringer

I've knocked off

#1: Have a great Goudey Ruth red on the way. Someone said awhile back that the red is a dull and boring card. I don't think so - I'm thrilled to have one on it's way.

#2: My N28 Oakley just has to be one of my favorites.

#6: Didn't think I'd ever get an N29 Getzin, and now have two. One from a board member, and then a chance to upgrade within a few weeks. Keeping both for now - I really like them.

And ... not trying to advertise for anyone or anything like that, but the top two on my list were knocked off courtesy of Toby. I swear that man could find a card of the Last Supper if you set him off looking for it!

Revised Top 5 (revised for changing tastes, and to reflect acquistions):

In no particular order

1. E95 Cobb - that scarlet background ...
2. E107 Any Detroit player
3. N162 Brouthers
4. 1869 Peck and Snyder Reds
5. 19th Century w/female players, not posed

Joann

Great post idea, Brad.

Since I collect type cards, I thought I would go for my top 10 list.
In fact, I am advertising that I will pay a significant bounty for
anyone who helps me purchase any of these cards from a source
other than E-Bay and card dealer auctions.

1. Red Stockings Cigar Card

2. Fireside Tobacco Card- graded 6 or higher

3. Kalamazo Bat Team card of Baltimore (only one I have never owned)

4. E 99 and E 100 type cards (PSA 6 or higher)

5. E98 any card in PSA 8

6. E 300 in PSA 8

7. 1949 Bowman PCL in PSA 8

8. Zeenut of Jim Thorpe

9. American Caramel E 125 of a Boston Player (excellent or better)

10. T 214 Victory Tobacco PSA 6 or better

I guess that I am out of phase here. I just won tonight one of the top cards on my list: a 1931 w517 Klein in vg condition - I got it for less than $40. which I thought was good. But looking at some of the cards which you guys want, $40. may not pay for the insurance.

Here's 5 cards I'd really like to find:

T210 series 6 Angermeier fielding
T210 series 6 Barney
T210 series 6 Goostree leaning on bat
T210 series 6 Whitaker
T222 Lelivelt

Finding any of those 5 would tickle me for a couple of months. Aside from the obvious question of "do any of you guys have any of these you'd sell"... What about does anyone out there have any of these 5 at all, even if you aren't inclined to sell at this time???

I'd like to know, I feel like there aren't many of these out there at all.

Frank.

Not so much cards but pieces I would like:

- W601 1904 or 1906 Sporting Life Team Composite Buffalo

- M101-2 Cobb

- M114 Baseball Magazine Premium 1917 Boston Red Sox

- 1898 Cameo pepsin pin Fields or Rowe (Buffalo)

- 1929 Kashin Gehrig

I get the large pieces matted/framed and hung on the wall. Too many cards, especially expensive ones, are "bought and buried".

The First 4 would each complete a Cardinals team set for that issue. The Branch Rickey card is the only contemporary card of him in a Cardinals uniform.

I have to differentiate between cards I would like to have but will never muster the $$ to own and cards that I'd like to have and have a realistic shot at acquiring. All lists are in no particular order.

The top 5 I know I will never own unless I find them at a garage sale or thrift shop:

T210 Jackson
Baltimore News Ruth
T206 Wagner
T206 Plank
Zeenut Thorpe

The top 5 I'd want to own and think some day I could own, so I actually look for them:

1918 Lefty O'Doul Zeenut
Zeenut Joe DiMaggio
E78 Sam Berger and Jim Jeffries
T229 Jim Corbett
1925 Exhibit Lou Gehrig

Then there are the obscure cards that I could afford but cannot find. My top 5 there:

E282 Jack Dempsey
Blue Boxers Exhibit Pancho Villa
Wunc strip card of Jim Thorpe as an Indian
1926 Red Grange Exhibit card in action
1932 Exhibit Olympics Buster Crabbe

Oh, and for John S who listed this:

1. E90-2 American Caramel
2. D322 Tip Top Bread

2. E-Unc. Orange Border Strip Cards
3. T5 Pinkerton Cabinet
4. PC 505 / PC 760 / PC 796

Joe -- that's exactly what I'm talking about. I see that Gibson is listed in the checklist for that set, but I've never seen so much as a scan of the card.

As far as that goes, if anyone has the NL Champs Pirates card from the same set, I'd be curious to know if he's in that picture. I assume that he is, but from the scans of the NL Champs card that I have seen, I can't tell for sure. Anyone out there know?

Regards,

Richard.

These I am actually looking for; not just pie-in-the-sky stuff.
1. 1938 Goudey Joe D either #, clean 6 or 7
2. 1936 World Wide Gum Joe D "Deadpan Joe"
3. 1933 Goudey Gehrig either #, clean 6 or 7
4. 1933 Goudey Hubbell #230, clean 6 or 7
5. 1933 Goudey Vance #2, clean 6 or 7

As you can tell, my address is clean 6 or 7. Centering not that important (to an extent, give me nice corners/edges any day).

Richard,

I've only seen the Matty I have in person...

I have seen posted here a Cobb and a Wagner (probably the coolest Wagner card out there in my opinion... yes even cooler than T206).

I've also heard someone mention they had a Lojoie.

The team cards seem to be much easier to obtain and there are a couple of them on eBay right now as buy-it-nows.

Regards,
Joe

1920's Aguilitas (Cuban) Oscar Charleston (less presentable)
T205s Hobby (no Stats); Wilhelm (suffered on back) -- Presentable
T202s High Grade - CATCHING HIM NAPPING BRESNAHAN/OAKES;
