I think American Beauty T206's were a bit narrower than the other brands.

I think the American Beauty packs were smaller, so the cards had to be smaller. Can somebody confirm this?

As BCD knows, and most other T206 collectors know, the American Beauty packs of stogey's were more narrow than other packs and therefore the cards are more narrow than others....

but I think Brian's point is that the cards are way too nice for the grade, unless they are trimmed, in which case they should be rejected altogether. Isn't kinda trimmed like kinda pregnant?

Edited to add they both look trimmed to me, especially compared to the other 2 AB scans that were included.

The Jennings has paper loss on the front so I think the grade is accurate on that one. All of them seem to have water staining on the back. Perhaps from soaking? The back of the McGann really shows the staining well.

The Chase seems to be low as a 1, but I do think that they are all accurately graded. If any of them, aside from Jennings, was in a 3 holder, I don't think anyone would question it. High end 2, low end 3, not much difference.

Hi Guys,
The cards are not trimmed, but I agree with Richard they do look like they came from a scrap book and may have some paper loss not visable on scans.
I would buy all 4 cards in those grades.....

Be well Brian

Richard should start his own grading company....

he could call it EGC ( Exacto Grading Co.) or maybe WCG***
Wong's Correct Grading

my favorite Wong piece!!

The cards are NOT trimmed. I have 20 more from the same group and scrap book.
The Chase deserves a 6 holder~

I'm not sure if 2 Wongs make a right.
I know 2 wrongs don't make a right.
But I know for sure that 3 lefts make a right.

cmoking,
Thanks for the poignant remark.

Aside from the Chase, those grades don't look all that inaccurate to me. As Richard said, maybe, they are off by one, but paper loss will kill a technical grade.

I think Brian posted these as undergraded because he thought the grader was afraid they may have been trimmed, which is not the case.

Normally I stay out of these grading threads because I have trouble grading scans instead of cards...and I don't have a corner fettish.

for not recognizing the origin of King's quote of which I have stated many times to Richard Wong! He would enjoy it more if he saw this movie!

The line is....
"two Wong's don't make a White" response
"and for that joke you shall die the death of a thousand men!"

and yes, your assesment is accurate and I understand that without seeing the cards your expertise is free~ (for now!)
