Default Best Way to display T206's

Posted By: Dave Snyder

Hi Everyone,

I'm new to the board and looking forward to joining in when I can.

After about 20 years of convincing myself not to, I finally began assembling my first T206 set (low-mid grade)last summer. I'm about 50 cards deep now and when I have guests over, they all want to see the cards. I'm putting the set together for myself and I never intended to display them, but the more I think about it, I really should. I've never given much though to how I would do it or what the best way is so I was hoping I might get some ideas from the other memebrs.

Any feedback or ideas are much appreciated.

Thanks!

-Dave

Unless you hangups about displaying copies, scans are the way to go. You can scan your cards and create a composite or display them individually. By doing this, you do not have to be concerned about fading or other forms of potential damage.

I usually display them on my shelf standing up in a book case shelf. looks really attractive.

fading- for a card to fade, just be under alot of light to do so or near a window. if u have them on a shelf, dont think that will harm them....

I would recommend scanning them and then displaying them on a webpage, although there is always the risk of someone stealing the scan and trying to sell your card on Ebay. (Which is why I'm glad my collection is basically SGC 10's, 20's and 30's!)

I use those TEN sleeves from t206 museum to protect my t206s before I put them in toploader for display.

yes, anything non graded but i only have t206's for measuring since some cards are a butt-hair over the normal size...unlike cards of today where they are exact, i'll be posting them in the b/s/t forum for less to net54 members

And in that display, both types of holders look equally good. I prefer SGC in general by far because of the black, but your display also looks great where the wood color comes through the clear PSA holder.

Thank you.... This seems to work well to keep them in sight instead of hidden away. I got them from a company called ponzi display co. order@displayco.com
I believe the link above will take you to there order page.
Great case' imo for a rather difficult item to display.

Here's the right link:

Scott, that's awesome. That's what I'm looking to do. I'm remodeling my basement this summer and want to dedicate a section to my ever growing T206 set as well as other vintage memorabilia from the pre WWI era.

Thanks to everyone for their great ideas.
