Default Post gone- 19thCentury Auction

Yesterday I posted a question on this board and instead of getting a reply for some reason my post is gone. It was about 19Century auction that was to start at 12pm on friday and at 11.35 there wasa bid already. I just wanted to know is there special people out there that can bid early? I see stupid as crap on this board all the time that does not get deeted and an honest question gets deleted. Why? Rob

I deleted the post as I had started a new thread concerning the 19th CenturyOnly auction. In answer to your question I am (fairly) sure no one get's to bid early although I am not sure what it would matter in the long run. Maybe Seth will come on and explain what happened. My guess is it was a computer glitch or just got put up a tad too early......It was not meant as a censorship to your question in my deleting it.....so sorry about that...best regards

edited to add "fairly" sure, as I have not spoken to the auction about this bidding pattern...

Hi Rob,

We sent out an email for the auction on Friday 8/11 in the morning announcing that the September 8th auction went live. The start time shown on the site was I believe set at 12PM. Bidding can begin even though the start time shows a later time. It was an oversight that we did not change the start time when the email announcement went out earlier than the start time on the site. After noticing this, we adjusted the start time to around the time the email was sent. The announcement went out and everyone was provided access to bid in the auction at the same time. Sorry for any confusion as to the time of the launch of the auction. Feel free to email me at seth@19thcenturyonly.com if you have any questions about cards in the auction. I will be happy to assist. Hope you enjoy the auction.

Sincerely,
Seth

I have learned over time(the hard way)that future and active auctions tread the fine line from informitive subjects to out-right advertising.A good thing to consider.

You are absolutely correct. There is indeed a fine line between this board wanting to help the hobby by posting auctions and individuals posting about auctions to feather their own nest. One is permitted and one isn't......... regards
