Default Network54 problems with AOL users being blocked

Posted By: leon

Hi folks,
I feel the need to post about an issue with Network54 and AOL users. The way folks are banned (operationally) from Net54 is to block the users IP address. AOL users have IP addresses that change with either each login or each new browser opened. This can make it look like I have blocked you when I haven't. The last 3 known folks that have been banned are ones that everyone knows and there is no reason to rehash all of that. NO ONE has been banned or blocked, that is a known person, since the Peter C. fiasco a few months ago. The 2 people before that, that were banned, couldn't get over the banner ads....NO ONE has been banned or blocked (it's the same thing) over the current, extraordinarily long, autograph thread. I did tell a few folks they need to be known or edit their posts and all have politely agreed. The personal problem with those posts is that I agreed with the posters but have to maintain the forum rules and integrity where anonymity is concerned. Also, if anyone is NOT able to send me an email then there is an issue on your end. I don't have ANYONE IN THE WORLD blocked from sending me an email even the few folks banned from Net54.....I hope this helps a little bit. Several regular posters have been inadvertantly blocked lately and I am sorry for the issue. If you open a new browser or reboot then it usually fixes itself. If it doesn't you may email me and I will help the best I can...best regards

edited to add that if you have not been warned, at least 3-4 times, about any issues on Net54 then it's safe to assume you are not banned or blocked.
