Default July 3rd,1914.Horrible Day For Baseball in Richmond,Va

I recently finished reading a book titled "Baseball and Richmond" and learned that my hometown team almost came to terms on a deal in the summer of 1914 to have a young Babe Ruth represent the team in Richmond.A territorial dispute and a matter of a $15,000 fee nixed this deal on July 3rd,1914.Seems like a small price to pay for The Babe to play his minor league ball here. His overall influence might still be felt to this day in Richmond.I recently purchased a couple of Virginia Colt T206 cards and could only imagine the excitement of having a Babe Ruth Card in his time that tragically never happen in my hometown,Richmond Virginia. That is if i could afford it in the first place!Jason
