The psycho serial killer scowl is a suspect choice for advertising. By design, Babe usually looks happy in ads.

Now we know where baseball fan Charlie Sheen swiped his trademark "Winning" catch-phrase from! A seriously badly designed fantasy piece.

Also note that it reads "Babe Ruth's Winning Cigarette below the added image of Ruth, but has "Cigarettes" everywhere else on the packaging.

Hope they didn't fake the tax stamp too, as that probably carries a greater penalty than anything else.

I'm not at all familiar with cigarette packs but the one thing I noticed about this pack was the 30 year or so gap between the Ruth portrait and the batter drawing on the other side. Is that generational difference known in legit packs or a good clue this pack is a fantasy piece?

Genuine Home Run Cigarettes stuff exists but as far as I know never before had a picture of Babe Ruth (or other star player) involved. I think the Babe Ruth picture was exactly why the fantasy question was originally posed.

However, I believe the art on the front of the genuine vintage packs was intentionally nostalgic and old timey even at the time of manufacture. The uniforms and equipment on the front are earlier than when the packs were made. I'm no expert on Home Run Cigarettes stuff and someone may correct me, but I think it mostly dates to the early 1900s.

Here's a good past thread on the subject...

Edited to add: I agree the Ruth is a fantasy addition and since they were making packs into the 1960s, wouldn't be too hard to get a hold of a cheap pack and slap Ruth's face on it. Or scan the whole thing and make a new creation.
