Default How much sports memorabilia can fit in one car??

Just returned from quite an adventure I decided to go to an interesting auction about 5 hours away and my wife and daughter decide to go along in our 2012 Mitsubishi Galant. No problem for room ...we are just going to buy some cards and maybe some gloves. Well I won 88 lots of sports memorabilia of types. I probably got close to 60 gloves, a dozen autographed balls, hundreds of sports illustrated, 1960 Sports illustrated display, Several vintage uniforms, catchers gear, an antique athletic supporter in the box, several pair of chuck taylors, and vintage team jackets, etc. etc. I only had to leave a few things behind, my wife had here feet on a layer 6 " deep of gloves and had a tote on her lap. My daughter had her feet on magazines and would get buried by an avalanche of old shoes every big corner. I am not sure what lesson I should take away - buy a bigger car, leave the wife and kid at home , or not buy so much? Hopefully I have much of it for sale during the next week.

That looks like my vehicle every weekend...only not usually filled with sports memorabilia, but just about anything antique and or collectible. I went to an auction on Saturday and filled two van loads and one car with vintage toys, trains, magazines, books and 1970-80s computer and video game systems. I made the mistake of taking one of the vans to another auction today without unloading from Saturday...I really had to do some reorganizing to fit everything in there.

Sounds like I need to go to auctions in Nebraska. Haven't had a chance to go through this stuff yet. Hopefully I find some treasures. I got to the auction just as it started and they started putting things up three or four at a time and things were cheap so I just started buying, so I am not sure what all I got. This ball was in one of the first lots with some gloves. love the box, ball is rough.

I took the day off and am starting to go through and price things. Anyone want to buy bulk quantities let me know. 35 balls including blue and red stitch, unsigned giles ball, several autographed charles Finley balls, and lots of misc. autograph balls. Obviously, I will have bulk lots of gloves, sporting magazines, etc. available. Hopefully I will be able to have a detailed list available. I will be posting on the BST and ebay (same id 4scuda) .

Does anyone know what the little 1800's style paper mache figure is?

Is it a solid figure or is it in two pieces? If two pieces I'd guess a candy container. Looks like you made a nice haul.

Default reminds me of a time......

I was set up at the Fort Washington PA show. I have always dabbled in non sport magazines, cards and various paper memorabilia - movies - TV - Glamour - Cars, etc. Whenever I set up at shows I always showed some (more looking to buy than sell). So one time at Fort Washington a guy says do you want to stop by my house on your way home - I have "a few" movie magazines you might like". "a few" turned into about 500 movie magazines, a group of photos, 100+ TV guides and a few hundred other items. I had to sell the guy some bulk items to make room in the truck for everything I bought from him. Ahhh the good old days!

I thought the little figure was a candy container when I first picked it out the box, but it isn't two pieces.

These gloves are in addition to the ones I pictured before. I will be working on a list and send it to those interested when complete. I don't know much about the jackets but I think they are cool. I really like the white one with blue sleeves but as you can see it is badly stained. Anyone have any cleaning tricks?

I hope I am not setting the record for replying to my own thread the most. Is there a way to attach a picture to a pm reply? Any way this trophy is 8.25 inches tall.

Glove list is completed. 78 gloves on an excel sheet. I will be emailing it those who have expressed interest. I just piled them back into the tubs, I guess I'll have to dig to find any one specific glove. I'd like to sell them in one lot if there is a dealer who needs inventory, but I will sell individuals. Quantity discounts will apply. These were the earliest gloves and are in outstanding shape.

Posted glove list in BST section, this was easier than emailing individually.
