Default 1933 Goudey Jimmy Foxx ???

Posted By: Bill

There are two cards of Jimmy Fox in this set Cards # 29 & 154. I have seen only scans of the front of the cards and they both look identical. My question is what is the difference between the two besides card numbers? Is the player biography on the back deferent? Also is one more desirable than the other?

as far as I can tell, the back is completely identical except for the number. I scanned every line on the two backs to make sure, and they read the same.

The value of the 29 card is higher because it is a low number and tougher to find in good shape.

The background printing of the ground on the front of the card is significantly darker on 154 than on 29. The difference is consistent and after you have seen several copies of both numbers, they are easy to tell apart just by looking at the front.
