Default 50 yr old baseball card FIND unearthed

I uncovered a vintage baseball card find this weekend..over 55 yrs old !

and can say from the bottom of my heart - UNDER whelmed !

A shoe box with about 250 or so very nice shape cards from the 64 Topps set

and not surprisingly... most are no name commons

cards are not MT..have been banged around a little on the corners

After going thru the whole box a few times...started wondering " Where is the money cards, the keys, the holy grails ?....and as any vintage collectors knows.. 64 T set..there really isn't any -

two Mantles..one way off-center , 5 count um 5 Tony C rookie cards, NO Rose, No high #s...

It reminded me of watching you tube vid of somebody opening a $300 pack of a 60s Topps year...and getting 6 commons, an insert, and an awful piece of gum !

Most people who found a box of 250 cards from 1964 would be thrilled getting two Mantles. Just sayin...

Mantle is the key to the set. Getting 2 is pretty awesome. Tony C rookies are nice too. Sports card sets from any year are mostly common cards. I would think you did well. But that all depends on what you paid.

If you got in at the right price it can still make money. It will just take work and some patience on eBay to liquidate.

Besides, could be a lot worse. I got called to purchase a collection last year that the seller told me was 1950s-70s. It was 80% 1990s, the 1970s had been cherry picked of most stars, and the 1950s-60s was a small stack of beaters. I bought it all and did OK because I basically hauled away the 1990s as rubbish and paid for the rest in accordance with what was there.

The 60 insert in that pack could be worth something
