Default Joe Jackson Family?

Does any one know if Joe Jackson had any siblings?

Please resist the urge to respond with any members of the Jackson 5, or Janet...

Regards,
Nick

I'm fairly sure he had at least one brother because I remember a story about one of his brothers having an accident in the mill that left him disabled. The ended up being an incident that spurred Joe on to try professional baseball.

I can get the exact information for you once I get off work - do you just need names, or are you looking for dates of birth as well?

sorry, i misread... here you go:

Joseph Jefferson Jackson was born in Pickens County, South Carolina, the first of six boys and two girls (Joe, Dave, Jerry, Earl, Ernest, Luther, Lula Mae and Gertrude) brought into the world by George and Martha Jackson.

they were virtually parents to one of Joe's nephews, who lived with them from infanthood until the day he joined the navy.

"Bringing up his nephew was the closest Joe got to having a son, but his special relationship with all kids, begun when he was a very young man, never failed...Even after the Black Sox scandal kids from all over the country, and from Canada and Cuba too, wrote to him..."--"Say It Ain't So, Joe," Donald Gropman, p 221.

I am looking for information on a brother named Jimmy. I purchased a postcard(sorry no image) that has a cartoon image of a man that looks like Joe Jackson and there is refernce to his brother Jimmy. The card is an advertisement for Jimmy's Hotel in Egg Harbor City, NJ.

Thanks,
Nick

but life in the mill destroyed his chances. One day he was caught in the whirring machinery and was carried to the roof on a revolving belt. His arm and leg were broken and never properely set. Dave spent the rest of his lif bent and malformed."--"Eight Men Out," Eliot Asinof, p. 53.

Still no Jimmy. His father's illegitimate son, maybe? Or someone just trying to make a buck off the Jackson name, more likely.
