Default Go Cubs!

Heading to Citi Field tonight, courtesy of Stubhub. Flying solo in enemy territory. Any other Net54 folks (Mets fans, I would assume) going to be there?
This will be my first ever Cubs playoff game (haven't been a whole lot of them).

Congrats on the trip. I went to Cubs/ Braves at Wrigley back in 2003. Was a fabulous time even if we didn't win the game. Seats were in the right field bleachers and had Ronnie Woo Woo present at the game. Get us a "W" to start the series. #FlytheW Go Cubs Go!!!

Enjoy the game. I think it's a year early for the Cubbies, but you never know.

go Cubs and FTM!

Ronnie Woo Woo is Ronnie Woo Woo Whickers. He was a homeless guy at ome time and his claim to fame is being the number one Cub fan. He is rather loud and obnoxious and roams the bleachers yelling this chant saying "Cubs Woo Cubs Woo, Cubs Woo", and does it for hours. Also keep in mind that he is dressed in a full cubs uniform including the styrups and shoes. I actually bought him lunch one time and he was rather interesting to talk with.

I've never rooted for the Mets .................... until now. While I guarantee all of you on the board are legit lil Chubs fans I also guarantee that about 80% of their current fan base are just like Red Sox fans and that is if the team is winning we're fans again or hey this team is winning I like them.

Well, that didn't go well. Harvey was dealing and the Mets defense was great. Still had a great time. Good atmosphere and pretty nice Mets fans around me. (Even the blotto guy in front of me who kept trying to high-five me after every good Mets play. "Dude, I'm a Cubs fan. I ain't high-fiving you.") And the $12 beers helped dull the pain.

As for my "trip," I'm on Long Island, Valley Stream specifically. Easy ride on the LIRR. Tough being a Cubs fan in these parts and they only come to town once a year, so I don't get to see them all that often. Haven't been to Wrigley in years. Dying to go again. As for this series, the Cubs really need Arrieta to step up tonight. If they go down 0-2, Cubs are in big trouble. They just don't have the pitching to match up with the Mets' young guns. My one consolation about last night was that we hit a lot of balls hard. It wasn't like Harvey was untouchable. Just seemed to hit the ball right at people (literally, in Harvey's case; that ball nearly took his head off), or the Mets would make a terrific defensive stop. Anyway, hope we can make a series of it. Go Cubs!

It was only game 1 and if you recall correctly, we lost game 1 to the Cards in the NLDS so do not panic. And yes, I do understand the history of the Cubbies but hopefully this year will be different.

Ronnie Woo Woo hoots until someone buys him a beer - that's his scam. If you see him coming quickly buy him a beer and ask him to move on. His woo has lost a lot of bite as he has gotten up in the years - he peaked around 1984.

I HATE the Cubs. Hope they get swept and lose every game 100-0. Not just this series, every game, every year, forever.
Go White Sox! (The last team to actually got to & win a World Series from Chicago, for those you have forgotten).

Arrieta's arm seems to be tired--his velocity is consistently down 2-3 mph, which also makes his slider (I really, really wish Ron Darling would quit calling it a cutter) less effective, and Rizzo and Bryant aren't carrying their share of the load offensively. I sincerely want the Cubs to win and somehow go on to defeat the Kansas Shitty "Boils" in the World Series but don't think it's going to happen!

Best wishes guys,

Larry

They are at home.
Only 2-0 down.
I honestly think they build off a win tonight and win the series.

It's the Mets!! Come on man. The Mets!!

Home plate umpires this series must have money on the Mets, their zones have been unfair between the two teams.

I love the human element but mlb needs to look into going with an automated strike zone some day.

now 5-2 - Cubs mistakes have killed them. That WP on the 3rd strike was infuriating- Jeez, how many consecutive bounced pitches is Montero supposed to salvage? Then bad outfield play (Schwarber) and a bad decision by Rizzo leave the Cubbies 3 runs down-

Even if they lose this, I can imagine the Cubs winning the next two, but still, coming back 4 in a row is pretty much impossible.

I would like to hate the Mets cause they're from NY, but somehow I can't muster the same animosity that the Yankees inspire.

Sadly Cubs are done. They can barely score runs. Hopefully the mets clinch on the road so the fans can't enjoy it, cause they don't deserve to enjoy it because 90% of them didn't start to support the team until a month ago.

Lol

I listen to wfan daily and mets fans did nothing but complain about the team from mid May till late July. They said the team is going no where, terry Collins should be fired, they won't go to a game till the owners sell the team. Now fans want to give Collins a contract extension

How strange would it be if the Cubs became the second team to start down 0-3, and come back and win the series, and go on to win the World Series? The Red Sox did it to reverse their curse against NYY. Cubs can do it against another NY team. That would be crazy!!!

Going to be tough. One game at a time.

Tony

It'll be tough winning four straight against the Met's staff.

Dear Cubs,

Thanks for reminding me why I hate modern baseball.

Sincerely,

Chance & Co.

Yup, like they say, "Good pitching beats good hitting." ...although it should be, "slumping hitting."

I guess as a Cub's fan Ishould be happy they're in the NLCS. I certainly didn't expect it. Before the season started I'd have been happy with a .500 season.

They just decided to phone it in for game 4. It's going to be a sweep.

I agree with the post-game analysis from Gary Sheffield, the Cubs strike out way too much, especially Kris Bryant and Starlin Castro. They will need to improve on putting the ball in play next year or acquire players that do.

Dear Cubs, I hate you.

I need to check into fan rehab and be done with them once and for all.
