...but I see far fewer M-116's out there. I would think T206's are much more common/numerous.

I would think that the M116s are most easily, thus perhaps most commonly, trimmed. The T206s have a funky stock that I think would be hard to trim deceptively-- as BcD put so well, the experienced eye is the best judge of trimming.

m116s have a very wide size variance, thus, trimming them down to the 'small' size is not uncommon. There are oversized t206s, but not percentage that you find in the m116s
