Default 1956 Topps Question

I went to the National for the first time this year with two goals in mind. I failed spectacularly at my first goal. My second goal was to make progress on my 1956 set. I walked into the I-X Center needing 21 cards to finish the set. I walked out needing 4. That said, a dealer said something to me that I didn't understand, but would like clarification on.

One of the cards I needed was #253, Irv Noren. A dealer I was talking to said that it was one of the hardest cards to find in top condition in the 1956 set. He was asking $40 for a card that Beckett's high book comes in at $30. I passed on the card because my condition requirements fall between Baby Pacifier and Well Loved, and I eventually found it for $10. But I am curious as to whether there is something about that card that makes it's true market value higher than BV. Or was the dealer just engaging in puffery?

7s cost between $40 and $130. Doesn't look too expensive compared to other cards.

Here's a nice clean one for $12.

I can't comment on the condition/price story from the dealer, but Noren was on my short list when finishing out my '56 set. At the time, I marked it up to being a Yankee.
