Default 1937 New York Mirror Combined Guide

Posted By: Kevin

In the early days of Ebay I picked up a copy of the 1937 New York Mirror Yanks, Giants, Dodgers Guide that pictures members of each team, gives their stats, list schedules and gives other misc. info. Later I saw another copy of this guide in one of Lew Lipset's Old Judge auctions that stated in the description that there were only two copies known to exist. It's my understanding that the Mirror issued seperate guides for each team (which are supposed to be easier to find) as well as the less common combined guide. Does anybody have any idea about how rare this actually is and well as an idea of value?

I don't know how rare it is, but speaking as someone who's been chasing this stuff for many years now that is the first one I have ever seen. I'm sure Max knows a lot more about the rarity of this item.

Default 1937 New York Mirror Combined Guide

Well, if there are two, here's the other, currently listed for sale on Lipset's site:

1937 N.Y. Daily Mirror Yanks, Dodgers and Giants Guide. The N.Y. Daily Mirror published 3 very rare guides for each of the N.Y. baseball teams in 1937. Even rarer is a composite guide for all 3 teams. 120 pages, most of wehich arr devote to individual pages for Yankees (Crosetti, DiMaggio, Gehrig, Dickey, Lazzeri, Gomez, Ruffing, etc), Giants (Hubbell, Terry, Ott, etc) and Dodgers. Excellent. $500.00
