Has anyone here ever seen the cards from the N167 baseball series?

Seriously, not to offend or anything but maybe only one question every other day or so.

Most here do their own research on an items before coming onto the forum to ask questions. You seem more like a "stream of consciousness" type but that isn't really how this forum functions, if everyone did what you are doing it would be pretty unbearable. This is a forum not a chat room.

The search for information is as fun as anything else in the hobby because you find out information on other items, players, etc. that you normally wouldn't have ever come across.

As long as Leon is OK with it (and not mad at me for it) then I am going to write here. It will become much less frequent over time once I have my answers to my questions regarding cards from the 1800's.

I am a university graduate I KNOW how to do research and I am in no way lazy just much more fun to actually talk to people here (try going to university for 6 years with your nose in books and almost no conversation and see how you feel....talking here feels good I feel much less isolated and that is a nice feeling).

So for now please bare with me and understand I much rather have opinions from people here with a LOT of experience than read some article on the net.

The moderators (myself included) don't tell people what to post and what not to post. As long as it pertains to our hobby, and is in the correct forum on the board, then it's all good. That being said the search function does work well. Before posting a thread folks might do a quick board search, read what there is, then post a thread that will have more merit to it, if they still have questions. I hope no one takes this wrong as threads are the lifeblood of this board....but threads started after doing a bit of research usually turn out better. There is no rule about how many threads can be started. Sometimes there aren't enough and sometimes they scroll onto the next page there are so many. It's all good...happy collecting.

I have had to much isolation in the past 13 years (2 years in college and 6 years at university my nose in books then 5 years of work doing research in my field of study again my nose in books) and it feels good to talk here to actual breathing humans.

Maybe Im wrong and I know theres another member here that knows much more that I, but I dont think there are more than 7 copies of any card known and a couple are 1 of 1s at this point. I saw that Ewing in the REA a few years ago, I was under the assumption that a decent looking "common" was still easily a 5-figure card.

University of Ottawa (Canada's national capital...huge school with about 40 000 students per year). Studied sociology (3 years to get my bachelors, 1 year for a specialization and 2 years full time for my masters) and got a masters in that field of study.

I had a average of B+ (GPA of 7 out of 10) so about 80% to 84% in university. In college I finished with 96% and with high honors and with the prize for best coop program student in the field.

All this without any parents just raised by my older brother (3 years older than me) both died when I was a kid. They left us their house and we took care of it and worked hard and went to school at the same time I was a janitor from 15 to 21 every nigh of the week....until I completed college. My brother would come to the parent teacher meetings and all that kind of stuff we would go grocery shopping together me been 12 and him almost 16. He is very smart and very mature. He completed university with a ''A'' average in computer science....also has his masters he would have done a doctors degree but life calls for making money (a PHD takes 5 years full time sure you get paid as a teachers assistant but that is not a career).

I was a orphan basically (spent 95% of my time in hospitals with and for my parents) and so was my brother oh we had are 2 grandparents but that is it in this world. No one intervened because my brother was so mature for his age he could take care of all the adult issues at a very young age so no one made any complaints to any authorities.

Thanks sir!!! Ottawa (population of 1.25 million) is a very nice place. I also love Montreal (population of 4 million) in the summer only 2 hours away by car....and Toronto (population of 5.5 million) about 5 hours away.

I enjoy doing the research on my own including purchasing several books, resources, magazines, etc to help with any questions I have. I will also reach out to several people that are in the hobby if I can't find answers to my questions.

For me personally, I enjoy taking the time to read about the history and stories behind the players / cards and finding the answer on my own...it makes me appreciate everything just a little bit more too.

Uber rare cards. I'm not a "back of card" kind of guy, but the n167s have amazing looking backs.

Finding and owning one would be a major accomplishment for most. Having more than one, well... it gets exponentially tougher. Several 1 of 1s in that set.

I too wonder if the resident n167 expert will chime in.

I know of at least one collector who has several...just waiting for him to post here (got to look and hold some of them at the national in anaheim several years back)...n167s are great cards and the fronts really look nicer in person as well.

Nobody is bullying you...I think they are just saying take a step back and count how many threads on the first page are yours...5. maybe consolidate your questions into 1 or 2 threads, not a new thread for every set or card that comes to your mind.

PS- the 167's are insanely tuff. there is an expert here who might chime in.

I had to look..as i never seen one neither.

gonna try a look for a sports figure. To see why these are popular. Heck i dont even have them listed in my price guide.


I saw a CAP Anson 1888 N162..and actually biddied a heft price for it...but it went for its retail value over 2k. In fact i saw one for bid just yesterday i believe for a reasonable price.
Just went over the 1k mark SGC 20 ends in 11 hours NICE!!!
I would trade my 51 bowman Mantle for it for sure.
Then again i see a BVG 1.5 for sale also under 200, with 7 days to go.
As dirty harry would say.....Do you feel LUCKY???
