Default Huggins & Scott Auction - How Many Lots Are You In On?

Posted By: Matt

I have qualifying bids on 16 lots, and of those I'm only going to continue tonight with 1; the rest have already exceeded what I think I could buy those items for elsewhere.

Thanks Alan.

As this is my first time partaking of a major card auction, I am wondering if my observations are incorrect. Does anyone else find that the items in this auction (or other major auctions) are, with the juice, going to end higher then those items could be had through other channels (reputable dealers/ebay/card shows)?

I understand for very rare items that's not a fair question, but what about the more common items?

I've bid on 3 items, winning 2 right now.

Matt, I've only won items in a few "major" auctions. It does seem like you are correct.
For example, somehow I got carried away and paid $396 for a PSA9 W560 Paul Waner at a Memory Lane auction. I believe that same card sold twice since for under $200 on EBAY. I guess another lesson learned for me.

However, from what I've read on this forum there have also been some good deals made with the "major" auction houses. I just don't know enough about this "hobby/business" to find them (although since I joined VCP I'm getting a little more knowledgable).

Dan

If you won the Rucker and Snodgrass autographs, I'd love to hear from you. Please e-mail me.
