Default Anyone ever seen an Orange W511 Babe Ruth??

Posted By: fkw

For those that don't know, the Babe Ruth card sometimes called "1924 W-UNC" in catalogs is really from a rare group of sets (mostly nonsports subject) known as W511 in the American Card Catalog. (The subject matter prove W511's are from 1926)

My question, Has anyone ever owned or seen an Orange Tint W511 Babe Ruth?

Orange is not listed in the 2006 SCD Catalog, but the W511 Orange cards of other subjects do exist but are very rare. I have a Maroon Ruth and have seen at least 2 other Maroon Ruths, along with many other B&W and Blue Tint W511 Ruths (#1,#52,#71,NO#).

Does an Orange W511 Ruth exist????

Thats' orange is stunning and your red one isn't so bad either... I thought it was just a baseball set, but it's similar to the 1928 W565's. Do you know if it came in a large sheet as well?

Now that our society has become more tolerant of obesity, I don't mind sayin' "Boy that Fatty Arbuckle sure is a looker"... Over time, seen a few whites with number var. and even fewer reds/maroon only and I'm always looking for these in a lower grade. #Found the #'s

I used to own the W511 Ruth that is pictured on oldcardboard.com. Its really a tan/nuetral colored card with black ink. Maybe its a fourth variation?

Is a great web site, with lots of info on strip card sets. I noticed that there is a Barney Oldfield (auto racing) card listed. I wonder when a boxer will show up. I call it!

Moviecard.com is a great website... the owner and master of movie card knoledge, Troy Kirk, is also a great guy to deal with. I can't count the number of times I've returned to the site for information.
