Guys, I saw this on slantycouch.com. Cool site. But noticed in the list Sovereign 460 back was listed as #14 right below Carolina Brights and right above Hindu brown. I know other people differ in what they feel is the exact scarcity order but had never seek Sovereign that high. Any opinions/thoughts on the toughness of the Sovereign 460 back?

I just didnt realize it was that much tougher than the 350..and noticed it was above Hindu brown on the list. I have sold and bought a few Sovereign 460 and never noticed much of a premium(atleast compared to other Sovereign backs)

There are about 12-15 Ty Cobb backs known. Does anybody think there are at least that many Old Mill overprint backs out there? I highly doubt it.

I agree with Barry. There are probably six to eight examples of the Old Mill overprint back and about a dozen examples of the Cobb back.

Also, Brown Lenox is probably more difficult than Uzit, Drum and Broadleaf 460. I have seen about three or four Brown Lenoxes in the last five years [Chase (Trophy) and Lajoie (Batting) come to mind] as compared with about three dozen Uzits, a dozen Drums and eight Broadleaf 460s.

And Sovereign 460 is not as scarce as indicated. Its difficulty is enhanced somewhat by the fact that it is only possible on 52 subjects, but I don't think it is as tough as Brown Hindu, for example.

Barry, there might be that many Ty Cobb backs around but how many have you seen on the back of a t206 card....so far I've seen none so I would say its rare enough to be ranked #1 or #1a right next to the Hustler t206 back.

well i think that order is whack. For one i agree with Barry ive seen many Ty Cobb backs definitely more than the Old Mill Overprints. Also Brown Lenox are extremely tough and would rank above Uzit and Drum, but in my opinion equal in toughness of the Broadleaf 460. Secondly i think that blank backs are tougher than the Piedmont 42's and finally the Sovereign 460's should be much lower on the list.
That is my take on it or at least my experience in to trying to collect tough t206 backs.

if anyone wants to trade a Lenox for my Piedmont 460-factory 42 card, let's talk. No takers? Thought so...

the old mill bar is not a back like uzit or drum. it is a southern old mill with a sweet cap 649 bar on it-an error -not a back.
there are several diffrent versions-one bar and two bars in black and one bar in red.
an error-not a back.
