Default Dual signed Pee Wee/Scooter commemorative bat

Actually, I'm more interested in information than selling or trading this item, but after hours of googling over several years, I thought I give this subforum a try.

It's a Loiusville Slugger 125 "Powerized", with the main inscription, a little morethan 3/4 of the way down the barrel being:

New York's Greatest Shortstops
The "Captain" and the "Scooter"
40 of 50

Farther down toward the barrel end is inscribed(in script)the following:

"Pee Wee" Reese
1940-1958

Phil Rizzuto
1941-1956

It is signed in black sharpies folows:

Pee Wee Reese, above the inscribed "New York's" , and

Phil Rizzuto below the inscribed "40 of 50".

It's obviously commemorative, or so was suggested to me by Bud Obermeyer, probably associated with a day when the guys were honored somewhere in NY, I suppose.

It would be great if someone who sees this posts knows all the particulars surrounding this piece.

I've been told that because "The Captain" was inscribed rather than the more usual "Pee Wee", this item might have considerable value.

Any help would be much appreciated, and if I don't get any replies, I don't think Leon would mind if I posted this same post on the main board. But, I thought I'd try to follow the rules to start out.

Thanks,

Bob

$200-$400 depending on your audience. Reese doesn't sign much anymore.....I used to get him all the time as he lived here in Louisville. Dropped 3 bats off at his condo with the doorman and he signed all 3 and the doorman called me to pick them up. Been quite a while ago though. I've got 2-3 different Reese bats. I usually see them on ebay in the $175-$250 range. Having both guys isn't necessarily a huge boost to the overall value though. Nice item though. Are you wanting to sell it? If so, put it on ebay with a high reserve and you'll get a feel for what it's worth.

I appreciate your help.

Bob

PS: When I first joined eBay (1997), I bought several of your items. Just a bit of reminising (sp?)
