Default T207 Pricing and Scarcity

Posted By: Richard Masson

I spent this morning going through a large grouping of T207s and looking at the prices listed in the Standard Catalog. The traditional big three are not listed as that expensive, while cards of Edgar Lennox and Duffy Lewis are off the charts. The second-tier rarities pointed out in Lipset's encyclopedia are either common or semi-tough.

Has there been an updated analysis of this set and it's scarcity that I missed?

Hey Richard,
The whole T207 listing is one big typographical error. Every card is on the wrong line. It will create a disaster for people selling commons but a buyng boon if someone has a rarity and doesn't realize it. But it wasn't done intentionally. Barry

I guess I won't be mailing in those gem mint Edgar Lennox cards to be slabbed.

Thanks for the help. The T207s go back in the box for another day.

If you haven't seen Tim Newcomb's analysis of T207 and the relative rarities therein, in VCBC #37 & 38, it is well worth checking out.

Default T207 Pricing and Scarcity

I guess this guy has not heard about the pricing problem in the 2005 Standard Catalog of baseball cards. He thinks it is worth 2,000 when it is a 200 dollar card. Someone should maybe let him know. Rob   http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=31718&item=5149277 928&rd=1
