Post What are you looking for?

Since the football board activity is kind of like vintage football cards (few and far between), it might help everyone out if we post what we are looking for. I personally focus on vintage college or generic cards with color artwork. I know it doesn't leave me much to look for, but collecting is about finding something you like and the thrill of the hunt! I also don't have deep pockets, which makes it even more fun challenging.

Below is a list of my current top wants. Let me know if you have anything you would be willing to part with and make sure you post your list too!

1910-11 Murad T6
Michigan (Non Serif Version)
Harvard (Non Serif Version)

1910-11 Murad T51
Tufts (1st Edition)
Michigan (2nd Edition - Upgrade)
Harvard (1st Edition with Number on Front)
Michigan (1st Edition with Number on Front)

1930 B.A.T. Sport & Games In Many Lands
American Football

1905 Ullman Football Postcards
Princeton
Stanford
Chicago (Upgrade)

1910 Schulte's T49
Yale

1896 Spalding Die Cut H818
Football Player

1934 Carrera's Believe It or Not
Sam York

1930's Leader Discs
Columbia
Fordham
Notre Dame
Pitt

1925 Ya-Lo Game
Defensive Player (Orange Border)

1889 Goodwin N165
Football

Currently do not collect pre-war football, but I am working on 2 SGC registered sets:

1964 Philadelphia (SGC 88+) 20% complete
1970 Topps (SGC 88+) 30% complete

If anyone has any available please let me know.

Thanks - Rob

I am essentially looking for cards and memorabilia of Jewish football players since the beginning of time. The football portion of this website has most, if not all of the Jewish players: http://www.jewsinsports.org/

Because I have extremely limited funds, I'm mainly interested in reprint photos, photocopies, articles, images, (thru-the-mail) autographs, etc,... Sometimes I splurge for authentic cards that are near poor condition.

Rob, you got me! I have given it some thought. I was thinking of a Johnny Unitas basic set that consists of 19 cards. If I started a set today, I would already have 4 of the 19 cards! Hmmm...

Not really football "cards", but football memorabilia, I'm looking for any 1960's to mid-70's Dallas Cowboys team issue photos.

Default 1965 Big Red Biographies

I have 11 of 27 of these St. Louis Football Cardinal cards. They were issued on the side of milk cartons. I would love to complete this set, but you just don't see many available.

My 11 cards are shown on the SGC Registry at: http://www.sgccardregistry.com/set.a...4&userset=5026

I'm looking for all the rest. Any condition, graded or ungraded. Thanks.

Default Pre NFL Individual & Team photos

I am looking for any Pro or Semi Pro football team photos or individual photos of players from the time period of the late 1880's to 1920. Also looking for any other type of yearbooks or programs issued for these teams. There were 100's of teams thoughout the country that were considered Pro at that time.

Not much information on these teams is known so photos that people have maybe good but the owners are unaware of what they have.

If you have any early football photos of players from the 1910's or earlier and the players appear to be post collegiate shoot me an email. You may have a Pro or Semi Pro team.

Here is my email address: micjmckee@yahoo.com

Thanks for time

Mike, the Packer HOF told me that very was produced and little survived from that era. I think the "holy grail" would be a 1910s Jim Thorpe Carlisle or Canton Bulldog card. Maybe one will surface in our lifetime. Here are few 1913 Green Bay Town Team photo/card I was fortunate enough obtain. These guys made it to the original 1919 Packer NFL team. Jim Coffeen was the Packers first quarterback and became their announcer.

Default Football Want List

Great idea for a post.

I am a more of a memorabilia collector than card collector, focusing on Philadelphia Eagles items, and the occassional Frankford Yellowjackets piece.

The number one item on my want list is a Frankford Yellow Jackets pennant. If anyone has one of these available, or potentially knows of one for sale, please shoot me an email.

In general, I collect early Eagles pennants, photos, nodders, other figurals, etc.

Carl, I remember reading about your Green Bay Packer find in Gridiron Greats. What a fantastic find!

Default Looking for the HOF

I am building a collection of cards of pro football hall of famers, but i am trying to do so on the very cheap. I have 129 different players dating back as far as 1956. To give an idea how cheap i am, i just bought the most creased card I have ever seen, a 1956 topps Bill George RC for a dollar. Ill post a scan when I am able for everyone's amusement. If you have some cards i may be looking for, I would appreciate it if you let me know.

Default Autographed 1953-56 Football Cards

I am trying to collect as many different players autographs on the larger sized cards, 1953-56 Topps and Bowman, as I can. Currently, I have 112 different players.

Have authenticated and unauthenticated, but actually prefer unaut.

My collecting interests are most similar to kjjavic except that I collect Cleveland Browns items.

In the future I plan on plunging a little more into the card world. I have a few cards at the moment but would like to collect all the Cleveland Browns greats from the 1950 Bowman set as well as a Jimmy Brown rookie card.

Otherwise I focus mainly on vintage Cleveland Browns pennants and other Browns collectibles such as bobbleheads, artwork, banks, figures/figurines etc.

I'm looking for pre-war football cards in the following sets. I'll consider graded or ungraded cards of pretty much any grade as long as the price is fair. I'll buy in lots as well if you have numerous cards and will discount.

1988 Goodwin (Beecher card)
1894 Mayo
1926 Shotwell
1926 Sports Company of America
1935 National Chicle
1935 & 1936 Wheaties sets

Let me know what you have that you'd be willing to sell.

I am five cards away from completing the 1967 Topps Set. Rick Norton, Wahoo McDaniel, Joe Namath, Fred Biletnikoff and #132 Checklist is all that eludes me.

I am also 211 cards shy of completing the 1968 set. I just started working on that one.

Both are raw sets only.

I am working on completion of the entire 1968 Topps football set. I need an ungraded Dallas cowboys team test card and 22 of the patches to have a complete set of the main cards, posters, standups, team cards, and patches/stickers. If you have any available or know someone that does, I would be interested in talking with them.

I am also working on the 1968 Topps Set, but just the cards. It will give me a three year run of Toops sets to close out the 1960's. I am very early into building the set, raw.

If you don't mind me asking, what made you decide to collect this set/year along with the posters and stand ups?

The 67 set I collected because it is the year of my birth and the last year of a Topps only AFL set. 1969 I competed because years ago my future brother in-law gave me about half the set. I loved the set so much that I decided to compete it.

Erik

This was the set I collected when I was growing up. I had most of the cards and several of the posters. I sold my original collection years later and ended up regretting doing that. I decided to collect the 1968 cards again and expanded the collection to included the team and standup cards which I never had. Of all the cards I am trying to get, the Dallas Cowboys team card is the hardest one to find.
