Default why no "play ball" bob feller cards

haven't had a thread like this in awhile. any thought why one of the biggest stars of the time doesn't have any play ball cards issued?

There are a lot of players who don't show up on Play Ball cards. Outside of a few old-timers, there are no Cubs at all, probably due to Wrigley Gum being in competition with the company that produced Play Balls (which later became Bowman). Besides Feller, there's no Luke Appling, Johnny Mize, Enos Slaughter, Joe Medwick, Rudy York, Ival Goodman, Terry Moore, Ernie Lombardi, Bill Werber and many others who were clearly worthy of being included. With the exception of the Cubs, I figure the reason the others weren't included was because they didn't get paid enough for their liking ...
