Good luck, guys. Of course, I'd feel a lot better about this auction if your website had won some awards. Way too easy to navigate it.

Rob, that's only for Mastro auctions. If you use the secure sign-in box in Mastro auctions you are protected from fraud. Damn my bad luck to have not had that option during their auctions from 2003-2007.

It's right next to the "shill bid" button

For the record, again, we have never and will never, be able to see max bids. It's the way we wanted our s/w set up from day 1. Some auctions houses (most) might be bigger right now but we believe with written rules like these:

"Bidding Records, Altering, Trust- Brockelman and Luckey Auctions keeps all bidding records in perpetuity. If an issue ever arises they can be audited. All BIDDING RECORDS WILL REMAIN CONFIDENTIAL UNLESS THERE IS AN ISSUE. If a record is disclosed it will be made known to 3rd party sources (only) for verification of bids and to ensure the integrity of the auction process. We want bidders and consignors to have 100% confidence in our process and these UNIQUE rules, we believe, will further that objective. Brockelman and Luckey Auctions will not alter any cards, or other items, or ever have anything other than authentication done to them. We feel there is more to lose than to gain in this area of the hobby"

AND the absolute lowest fees in the industry we will be a good choice for collectors in the future. If "I" were able to bid in this auction I would be all over several lots......but admittedly I am biased....take care now

btw, if you,or anyone else, ever need help with anything, my 7x24 cell # is 214-282-4943 (though I do sleep from about 12am to 6am, when my dog doesn't wake me up to take her out...the little beyatch...)

Is anyone else having difficulty reaching the actual auction right now? All the other links on the b-l auctions page work fine for me ("market strategy", "terms and conditions", "about us", etc) but whenever I hit the "auction" button or the "login" button the page doesn't load.

It's worked fine for me every time I've tried up until this afternoon.

edited to add: it works fine now

There seems to be a s/w hiccup with our auction s/w right now. We have already reported it. We (Scott or I) will give an update as soon as we have one. Our apologies for the invconvenience.....

Jim B.,

Nope. You have to couch it as a congratulations and best wishes to Leon and Scott. Then you can slip it in like I did in the third response in this thread. In doing so you give the whole thread a free "bumperooski".

Edited to add- I forgot this

Just wondering why you don't put a link to the auction in the email reminders that you send us.

Brian- not wanting to bump this yet again it was a mistake not to send a link....we will in any other emails (there will probably be 1 more) ..leon

While I like your auctions, it is a bit annoying to me to receive 5-6 e-mails in 24 hours reminding me to bid. As a collector, I think one should suffice.

The clock is on each lot. If a bid is placed in the previous 15 minute increment the clock will run to 0 and then start over at 15 minutes. All of the clocks are the same on each lot. Last auction we went until about 12am CST...We think it will be around that time again before it ends....but it all depends on when the bidding stops.

As for the emails we understand the concern about their frequency. Since Scott and I both bid in almost every vintage card auction going we feel this is the best way to keep folks informed. Our consignors appreciate it too. We apologize if we caused any inconvenience. ....best regards

if you are using Firefox, the countdown clock isn't working ther e- switch to IE and you'll see it.

Scott/Leon - it seems the 15 minute rule isn't resetting to a new 15 minutes when a bid is placed, but rather, if a bid is placed within a 15 minute window, then the next 15 minute window is enabled. I.e. if a bid is placed at 10:02 (in the 10:00-10:15 window), the auction will extend to 10:30. I've seen it work both ways at different auctions - is that the desired behavior?

edited to add - you've described it exactly, so I guess that is the desired behavior.

Hi Leon,

I have to step away from the computer for a few hours (and I can't afford an Iphone). Do you think the auction will still be open for bidding if I return by 10:00 PST?

The last auction a bidder missed the end by just a few minutes because he thought it would go longer.

If there is something you want I would encourage a max bid.

This is only our 2nd auction so I hate to try to be specific and then something else happen. I can only promise the way the auction is structured...That being said we have far more lots this year and last years went until 12am CST...which I guess would only be 10pm PST....so I think you could possibly be cutting it close (now watch the darn thing go a lot longer).. Sorry I can't be more specific....regards and thanks for your participation...

Surprised there wan't more action on the higher series T210s in pretty decent shape. Wonder if not being slabbed kept some away. I'm not bitching, I won 7 of them but just curious...

It's definitely a very easy auction to navigate through, bid, track, etc. I appreciate that as a bidder.

I was able to win a few, but I think I have the "west coast advantage?"

Thanks for putting together a world class auction that was easy to place bids and manuever about in. This was my first sports online auction and unfortunately I didn't come close to winning anything, I can't wait for the next auction (hopefully it will have more Brooklyn cards in there.)

Have any auction houses actually ended their bidding on Friday or Saturday night? Seems like that way you could at least catch up on sleep the next morning on the East Coast, but maybe the thinking is too many people are tied up with other things on those nights. Would be interesting if one of the houses did end the bidding on Friday or Saturday how that would effect sales.

Sounds like we're ready for an East Coast/West Coast fight a la...Biggie and Tupac.

Also wanted to see if the $2,000 shipping includes a first class ticket to pick my cards up?

I think it ended a little bit late (for me)...at about 1:30am CST....Scott and I will try to figure a way out to end it earlier (starting extended bidding a little earlier?) for our next one..... Overall we are very pleased with the results. A few more lots didn't open as we had hoped for (hoped for 0) but we were catering to our consignors....It's something Scott and I will discuss next auction...and actually already have this morning.

The $2000 shipping is a default as it will take us a few days to calculate that and have it fixed and on line. We will send out an email when they are ready...unless anyone really wants to pay that much? Sorry Sean, I think that would be expensive even for plane tickets!! We WILL ONLY send hard copy invoices in the mail if someone asks otherwise ALL INVOICES will only be on-line. Last auction exactly 1 person wanted a mailed copy......and we were more than happy to do it. Not sending USPS ones saves time, money and we are doing our part to be "green"....(hey, don't laugh, it's the new buzz word)

Sounds good...I guess it wouldn't be to "green" to fly down and back for $250 in cards.

Cheers! It's Friday!

Edited to add - if anyone here won lot 380 (Lot of 5 Old Judges) I would be interested in the Tuckerman.

Why was there such a dicrepancy in the price between the Carrigan and the Dolan E97 Proofs? $363 for a SGC10 and $1034 for an SGC20? That seems like a big gap for closely graded cards. Is it a case of two people needing the same card or is there a premium on one over the other due to scarcity? I though the proofs were scarce to begin with.

Congratulation on a great auction guys! I didn't have the funds to bid this time, but I'm hoping to in the next one!

Just received notice that I won lot #103....T206 Walter Johnson Portrait (SWEET CAP 150, Factory 649 Overprint)

This card completes a two year project to acquire all 35 cards in this short (but tough) T206 sub-set.

Thanks again Leon and Scott.
