Yes, I believe it was....but I don't see their names on the publication. (All of the other ads in the pricelist were 50's-60's cards...and some very old scorecards)...best regards

Those old Card Collectors' Company catalogs contain some of the best political commentary I've ever read.

Can I place my order now for some T206s for .50 each?

Wow it says that the rare T206 Wagner is worth $250 back in 1968..Amazing!

The .50 for T206 price held up into the early '70's, but T205's went up to .75 and then a buck.
They didn't care too much about backs either, I remember getting a Bergen Uzit back in my stack of .50 cards on one order Spring '73.
Lesser HOFers like Bender, Bresnahan, Huggins, etc were all fair game as well for that price.

I first started ordering from Card Collectors' Co. in 1966. As I remember, at that time you could get Willie Mays, Sandy Koufax, etc. for the same price as common player cards, if they had them in stock. Eventually they started charging a bit more for the star cards, as in the pricelist shown above. These weren't really "very rare" cards, just harder for them to keep in stock because of the higher demand. I remember that I ordered the entire 1966 Topps 7th Series run from them, since these "high numbers" never appeared in my local grocery stores. I still have those cards, as well as a 1955 Topps Mays that I think I bought for about $1.00 -- actually a fair amount of money for a nine year old kid making $5.00 a week mowing lawns. I recently had the card graded by PSA:

They had a warehouse fire that burned part of their inventory and a lot of other stuff got slight smoke damage. They sold everything in cheap lots, stars and commons together. I remember opening a package and pulling out mint (except for the slightest discoloration) 1960s hockey cards with all the major stars included. Their inventory was like Frisch's; fresh from Topps and just sitting there for years.

Don't have any of it anymore, unfortunately.

Thanks for the blast from the past.
