Default Old Baseball Photo

Posted By: Lee

Hey guys, long time lurker of the board but first time posting here. I recently picked up a rather old baseball photo and I’m trying to find out some info about it. If anyone could take a guess at the date of the photo or the team/player in the photo it would be much appreciated. Thanks.

SA....San Antonio? If the person you got it from knew, or knows some background behind the picture, that would be a big help in identifying the team.

Jay

I like to sit outside, drink beer and yell at people. If I did this at home, I would be arrested. So, I go to baseball games and fit right in.

Looks about 1905-10....SA could be anything...town team, company team...Without provenance it would be difficult to know for sure.

The dating offered seems correct. The oval photographic print with embossment around it dates to the early 1900s.

In fact, if you were to email me a big scan of the photo I would use it as an example in my sports photo guide.

Thanks for the replies so far. I haven't got the photo in my possession as of yet but the info I have on it is that it was a baseball player from Long Island, New York area. The actual photo its self is 3x4 1/2 inches but the overall stock of the backing/cardboard is 6x9 inches. Once I get the photo I'd be glad to send you a big scan of it David to use in your sports photo guide.

I had several friends whom I played soccer with in college that were from Deer Park, Long Island, and they went to Saint Anthonys.
