Very nice. I have a few. I have not written the book on ticket
collecting, but in my opinion there is not very much additional cache in first
row seats and opposed to last row seats. Like cards, people are concerned with condition principally. I have not seen much focus in the hobby on better seats vs. lesser seats. I have never noticed that even at the big auctions.

I’m not sure if this was the exact layout of the stadium at the time of your ticket, but looks like row 1 of that section is an upper level area, as opposed to being a row 1 right on the field. Again, not totally sure, but was the best conclusion I could reach with a little research.

According to Baseball reference, that game was rained out and played on 8/19. I don't know a way to verify that the memorial was moved also (though it seems likely).

According to the linked article below (which shows a full ticket example), the scheduled July 4th doubleheader (and the Gehrig monument dedication that was supposed to occur between games) was indeed rained out and rescheduled for two days later.

Just so everyone knows, that beautiful ticket (I have one, too) was to a game, yes, but more importantly, to the unveiling of the Lou Gehrig monument, which was in-play in center field. At one time, there were the first 3 of many, and they were all 3 in play; Miller Huggins, Lou Gehrig, and Babe Ruth.

There are 1st rows in every section of Yankee Stadium. Field level 1st row in a seat or chair, as was designated at Yankee Stadium in 1941 would hold a slight premium. If you look at some of the threads that discuss Joe Dimaggio streak tickets ( which include yours) you will see some of the variations.
I would think that condition plays a greater part in value for this particular ticket. Followed by scarcity some who collect Gehrig are interested in the different colors on the stripes where again the more expensive the rarer the stripe.
