Default All I want for Christmas (or Chanukah or whatever) is...

...a relief pitcher on the Mets who can actually get a player out, and for the Bills to somehow make the playoffs.

Add your holiday sports desires.

My Las Vegas 51's (NY Mets AAA team) to turn it around. We finished 56-86 last season 17 games back of the division champion El Paso Chihuahuas.

Also, for the Golden Knights and UNLV Rebel basketball to keep up their solid seasons.

My Giants to win another three World Series Titles in the next six years (I'm not greedy)...

To get an original Signal art card drawing by Al Demaree. I LOVE his style of artwork... but I've never seen the originals on EBay... or original art of a New York Giants player by either Willard Mullin or Lou Darvas...

For baseball to overtake football in popularity in the nation's consciousness.
(Football brain injuries are such a serious worry... that it might possibly happen.)

Do you have an effective reliever to send up to the parent club??

The LA Sparks to win another WNBA championship. My guess is that this will not interfere with anyone else’s wishes.

All this altruism is nice but I want to find a multimillion dollar trove of cards worth enough to retire on.

Yes I am a selfish, greedy pig. Oink.

My sports wishes:

New Arkansas football coach Chad Morris to restore the program to respectability

The Cardinals to add substantial help at the back of the bullpen and an additional veteran to the starting rotation and return to the playoffs and obtain a 12th World Series title

A new owner for the Los Angeles ehhh San Diego ehhh Los Angeles again Chargers

I’m a big fan of Demaree’s artwork, those Signal cards are great. Here is a Christmas card that Al sent to his old teammate Milton Stock back in 1928.

In no particular order....

Peace on earth, good will towards men (and women and children)

Double the treasure trove of cards Adam wished for (not to retire on because I have a hard time getting rid of anything)

An Anson in Uniform N172

New Padres ownership and a GM that has a clue...

The Padres win a World Series with a payroll under $80M

The winning numbers to the next Powerball jackpot worth more than 500 Million (stipulation - no other winners, I'm a greedy phucer... I want to know what it feels like to have 1/2 a percent of what Bezo's has...)

To go back to being 25 years younger so that I could enjoy the 1/2 billion Powerball winnings...

What, am I being a bit greedy? Ha, it's my wish so I can wish what I want... then comes reality.... wish in one hand, shit in the other and see which fills up faster....

Default I don't follow MLB too closely these days, but...

I don't follow Major League Baseball too close these days, but I feel I already had a great baseball Christmas this year....

1) Aaron Judge---what an amazing kid! (yeah, a tsch old for a rook, but who cares) Great first half, and then a beautiful September comeback, with a decent post-season as icing on the cake.

2) Houston winning the World Series. I am no Astros fan, but after what those people suffered in Houston, I hope this was a little bit of consolation for them.

3) Giancarlo Stanton coming to the Bronx Bombers. I would have to say the Yanks now have in place a 21st Century Murderers' Row. I would add that I truly hope the Yanks can help "da Judge" handle curves, sliders, palm balls better and better.

Ya know, the things I want suddenly don't seem so important.

I would like for Rich's wife to get the transplant she needs.

The greatest gifts we could ever get are those loved ones who are already there. Everything else is just "stuff", and you can't take it with you.

I thank you all, I do want to state my wife is doing as well as can be expected.

She is still working and will do so as long as she can. The dialysis has helped, other than the time whip, get her towards what she was in terms of energy. We both believe in working to be productive. And yes, working is good.

But a new kidney would be even better

Rich
