"American Greed" is a great show. You must read Robert Lacey's fine book entitled "Sothebys: Bidding For Class" and how corrupt auction houses can be. Also, the heated competition between Sotheby's and Christie's introduced to the auction world in the 1970's an unheard of thing that was agreed upon by both auction houses (duh!). The buyer's premium!

Or better yet call it "American Stupidity"
It's amazing what naive people can fall for these days
P.T. Barnum said something like
"There's A Sucker Born everyday"
In this country, it's more like one every second
Too many want something for nothing
What happened to the "work ethic?"
Or lets but a Lottery ticket,
that's the ticket to get out of living paycheck to paycheck
"Greed Kills"

Of course the show uses ads for underarm deodorant and video games to make a profit from its viewers.

"I am not a destroyer of companies. I am a LIBERATOR of them! The point is, ladies and gentleman, that Greed, for lack of a better word, is good. Greed is right, Greed works. Greed clarifies, cuts through, and captures the essence of the evolutionary spirit. Greed, in all of its forms; Greed for life, for money, for love, knowledge has marked the upward surge of mankind. And Greed, you mark my words, will not only save Teldar Paper, but that other malfunctioning corporation called the USA!"

— Gordon Gekko, Wall Street
