Default Complete Set

I'm curious, if money was not an object, what three sets would like you to
own (or already own) and why? Over the years I've tried to diversify my
collection, intentionally going against the grain and avoiding the T206 set.
My collection intentionally includes sets from different eras. They include:

1) E95 set. (I own this set.) I'm a huge Philadelphia Caramel collector and
I think this set is as astatically pleasing as any from that era.

2) 1933 Goudey. Legendary set that includes all the stars from that era.

3) 1956 Topps. (I own this set.) Again, great eye appeal, lots of start from
the period.

I'm working on one set per decade from 1909-11 T206 through the 70's. So if money was no object, I'd obviously love to complete the monster with the rarest back possible for each card! Other than that, here's my list that I'm working on and would love to complete:

1921 E121-80
1933 Goudey
1941 Playball
1956 Topps
1963 Topps
1975 Topps (completed aleady, but still upgrading)

For me it would be T213-1, T215-1 (Red Cross and Pirate), and T216 (Kotton and Mino).

Edited to add: These are obviously pipe dreams, especially considering I currently have a grand total of 2 (one T213-1 and one T215-1).

Besides E105s and E102s, I'm intrigued by V117s, T209s (photo), and if we're getting all crazy here I will add Just So's to the list.

If money was not an object...

N172
W600
T202

Excellent coverage of 19th century (N172) and early 20th century (W600), and a great set of the deadball era baseball whose backs are nearly as interesting as the fronts (T202).

I'd upgrade my t205 set
I'd want a t3 set, the size and artwork are amazing
I'd also want a diamond stars set, which I might start dabbling in.

Today I'd choose:

E90-1
T3
1953 Bowman

Ask me tomorrow for an entirely different answer!

Default Sets

T205 Master set ( money makes this pretty hard to finish)

E210-2 York Caramels ( hard to find some of these maybe just because some folks don't know difference between Type 1 and 2, or mostly they just don't care)

N167 ( insert "We Miss You JimB)

E107, 1914/15 Cracker Jack, T206

I currently don't own a single card from any of these sets.

1914 cracker jack
1933 George C Miller (I used to have about 3/4 of the set and wish I still had it)
1937 O-Pee-chee ( I currently have 11 from this set)
There are many many more sets that I love and my list would change from month to month but those are my current 3.

I think about this all the time - "if money was no object, what sets would I build?"

I think if money was no object, I'd pick up lots of N173s.

I'd build a nice 1914 Cracker Jack set.

And I'd build a super high-end 1953 Topps set. I absolutely love the way those cards look when they're pristine, well-centered, with no chipping on the red or black borders.

Great topic, Erik

1914 or 1915 Cracker Jack. Pricey set, but stunning imagery and just an iconic set...and I actually like the candy staining.

I have completed 2 vintage sets...both now gone...e90-2...super small and relatively easy and e94...still smallish but some cards were tough when I went after it.

If I could pick 3 sets to own...I'd go with old judge(...e90-1...and 52 topps.

e107, w/o a doubt.

w600 would also be very nice...

Just So, Baltimore News and n167s would have to fight it out...
