Default New York Metro Cardswap - April 6th

Posted By: Scott Levy

To all vintage cards (and especially T206) lovers....I am hosting a get together at my home on April 6th in Lawrenceville, NJ (near Princeton).

There will be cards, lots of them....and also very likely a few burgers, dogs and brews. From Manhattan its a little over an hour by car, or by train from Penn Station. Please make sure to bring all your goodies as I hope there will be a bunch of trading and swapping.

Also, please send me an email at scottglevy@yahoo.com for address details and to confirm that you are indeed coming. I can try to pick people up from the Princeton Junction train station if needed.

I missed her first birthday party because of work so this one is a must. Basically I'd be the only person not there if I didnt go,i wish my birthday parties had turn outs like that. In fact my birthday is 4 days before that so I wanna go to see how much thunder the new kid stole from me being born that close.

Mike,

I'm in on the plan as long as I get a page of those no red ink "variations"

Scott,

Thanks for posting the invite. Count me in and I'll be sending an email shortly.

I've been looking at this thread and I keep finding it interesting. It sounds like a great get together, the problem I'm having is it is about a seven hour drive, but the urge is there.I have even called Joe Pelaez (tobacco-r-us) and found out that he is also interested in the get together. His problem is unlike mine,he lives in Virginia but the get together sounds interesting to him also. What is the latest update of the attendees?
Here's hoping,
Ralph.

Latest update,

We are now at 8 or 9 avid collectors. This should really be a fun event. Planning to kick it off right around noon and should last until 4 or 5 ... but I'm not gonna ask anyone to leave so maybe it will go a bit later.

I'm very flattered that people are considering coming from Virginia. Feel free to email me separately if you need special accommodation.

Regards,
Scott

Just a quick note to give special thanks to both Hank & Scott for a wonderful time this past weekend.

It was a pleasure getting together with Ted and Scott M as always, and it was also really nice seeing Hank and Scott, and what was quite possibly one of the best T206 sets I have ever seen!

It’s a real pleasure meeting with such passionate collectors to discuss cards and the stories behind each and everyone’s collections.

I think both Ted and Scott M would agree with me in saying that this very passion really comes across from these two collectors, once again guy’s thanks for the good time.

Cheers,

John

P.S. Mike S, you really missed out!

I just wanted to echo Johns thank you to Hank and Scott for the great food, drink and allowing us to see their incredible collection.

It is real easy to see how passionate these guys are about their collection and it was a joy to spend a few hours looking at and discussing cards with them!

There was one significant deal that involved the trading of several T206 high grade extremely rare backs. However, out of respect for the privacy of the parties I'm not able to say much more than that. Thanks to all who came and to those you missed it, I'm sure that this won't be the last cardawap.

Regards,
Scott
