Default e97 hartsel- 1 L variation

Posted By: quan

after seeing another one L variation currently on ebay, I want to hear other e97 collector's opinion as to how tough this card really is?

From my experience the hartsells are like the steinfeldts, both found with equal frequencies...I don't understand the huge premium some people are putting on it. It bothers me also that the sgc registry puts such a huge weight on it. With the recent one in mastro and now ebay, I guess I've seen a total of 6-7 the last 2+ years...that's roughly the same number of Nichols I've seen total, of both variations. I've personally owned 2 or 3 hartsel at various times while having never owning a nichols...might just be random luck?

I've had a b/w nichols...and have been looking for it's color complement for years. I've only seen 1 w/Phil designation...outside of an auction house...and that was over 10 years ago. There was the Clev one that tbob won on ebay recently...at a steal of a price I may add. Very tough card!

I have a color Hartsell and a B&W Hartsell. I also have a color Hartsel and am looking for a B&W Hartsel. I've seen the same couple color Hartsel cards go up for sale multiple times. Not alot of different ones. I can't remember a B&W Hartsel for sale.

I had a beautiful color one L Hartsel E97 which I sold about 7-8 years ago. I DO, however, have a one L Hartsel black and white E97. I'll post it next time I dig through the safe.
