Default Uniform Help...

I came across this one and thought rather than researching it myself, I'd see if any uniform guys could tell me who this team may be. It's got Wilson tags and unfortunately, the pic I took of the tag didn't save to my phone. It's a zip-up with no name on back. The pants have the Wilson label in the front and are size 34. I thought maybe CAL but with Blue and Red, just not sure.

Default Denver Bears?

My first thought would be the Denver Bears?

Yeah, that was my thought as well and I have a handful of Denver programs that I went through but they really lack photos. I'm also limited to the 60's with the ones that I have here.

If there's a large patch on the back that reads "Chico's Bail Bonds," I might have your answer.

I thought I detected a faded chocolate stain on the underside of the right sleeve.

Denver Bears and Newark Bears are two minor league possibilities. I have a number of Omaha Cardinals programs but no pics of the Denver Bears.

College would include Cal Berkeley, Baylor, Northern Colorado, Brown, Wash U St. Louis and Southwest Missouri State off the top of my head. Bon chance.

Thanks Bruce, I'm gonna try to get in touch with the seller and see what they may know. I'm in the Sacramento area and the Bakersfield Bears were in the California League from 57' to 62' so there's another possibility.

It's not the Newark Bears, at home they wore pinstriped jerseys with no logo from the mid-1930's up til they left town after the '49 season.

My pick would be the Denver Bears. BUT the Eau Clair Bears from Wisconsin are a distinct possibility as well. Both teams used pretty much that same font at some point, and matched the same color schemes.

Denver did wear blue and red through the 1950s...that's a strong possibility.

After looking through my Denver Bears images, the closet photos I found were from 1956 and 57. The 1957 picture of Fritz Brickell, has the large colored belt loops and back pocket flap but the stripes do not go all the way down the front of the jersey as seen in the 1956 photo of Woodie Held. The Bears have had a sleeve patch on all their uniforms. Is there any evidence of a patch once being on the sleeve?

AndyPCL, got guess with a team nearer the PCL so I'm going with the Yakima Bears, but the Denver Bears is a great guess.

Later edit I can not find a photo of any Yakima team prior to 1962 wearing any home/away uniform that says "Bears", "Pippins", yes). And before PCL fanatics get on my case, yes the Denver Bears were in the PCL but not until the 1960's

I'd probably have to eliminate the Eau Claire Bears from contention. Same color scheme, but reversed--their letters were red with blue trim.

The seller had no additional information, just that it was an estate sale pickup. Any chance any of you guys have a Bakersfield Bears program that may have some pics?

Here's the Wilson tags.

Very good. I was aware of them having red letters with the blue trim. The only reason I suggested them as a possibility is because I wasn't sure if they had the colors reversed at any point in time.

Looks like late 1950s to late 1960s tagging.

Interesting thought. They didn't switch anything that I'm aware of. They became the Braves for the 1954 season, mimicking Milwaukee's uniforms.

I'm just excited someone brought up Eau Claire, the subject of my book!
