Has anyone heard of this grading service? I see a really nice card that I am interested in but don't know the company. The seller has a perfect feed back with over a 1000 feed back. Appreciate the help

It is my understanding that they bought the rights to the SCD grading name from Krause. They were set up at the National, from what little I've seen and heard they are not in the same league as their predessesor.

What I am really interested in is the integrity of the company...do they grade trimmed cards like CSA. Or are they fairly legit and just overgrade for example they would say a SGC 6 would grade with them as a 9?

thanks

Robert,

In my opinion, they are one notch below Pro and I was not aware of any notches belwo Pro. I would not expect any card to cross out of there holders into a grade at any major grading company.

I hope all is well

I think they just bought SCD's equipment (slab sealers, label printers etc.) The fact that their acronym stands for Sports Cards Direct tells me they did not buy any name and are praying on the brand appeal of the SCD abbreviation. Then again, SCD has done nothing to distance themselves from these guys, which is also surprising. Maybe they are paying on an installment basis for the equipment and SCD is bearing with the brand stealing until they receive all of their money?

stating that they are not affiliated with the company. If you blinked, you missed it.

They couldn't buy the name since Sports Collectors Digest continues to use its for other businesses, but I think they bought the rights to the design used on their slabs. The design is EXACTLY the same as the old SCD slabs except the logo is not red. So red = buy, white = pass.
