I like them. It was fun pulling a few from packs back in 2002. Presumably around 4,000 (also included were some T205 and T207) were purchased from Kit Young by Topps.

I like them. I pulled 2 in 2002 and they got me interested in T206/prewar. A couple years ago I released them from their sleeve and had them graded. They'll always have sentimental value to me as they were my first.

I worked at Topps as a baseball editor in 2001-2 and probably my favorite couple of hours there was opening that package from Kit Young and sorting those T206 cards alphabetically on the carpet floor of a meeting room. I wish I had taken a picture. There were a few nice HOFers there too, highlighted by Walter Johnson.

Yes, there were definitely a very few t205s in the mix. I don't remember any t207s, but there could have been one or two. I sorted those separately; did they get inserted into the product? I remember telling the brand manager that they didn't belong but that people shouldn't mind pulling them.

I own a few of these and have sold three in the past.

The three I sold were a T205, T206 and a T207.

My first T205 was a buyback. I think it is cool, and the T205's look nice in the T206 buyback frame. I now have 5, and will probably add more.

When I was compiling my T206 set, I bought probably 6-10 off of Ebay and promptly freed the T206 from the Topps insert.

Ive bought a few off ebay. Theyre good because although raw, i believe (and correct me if Im wrong) that no trimmed cards were allowed so it gives some peace of mind for condition.

There was no QC to this effect from Topps' end. I'm sure that all were authentic, but these were purchased and inserted raw and had never been graded (or perhaps some of them had been attempted, but who knows). In any case, we didn't do anything to ensure no trimming or alteration.

In fact, here is a thread from the archives about a trimmed John McGraw.

I picked up a few of them for a reasonable price. I don't put a huge premium for the Topps packaging.

I did like the innovation shown by Topps for doing this. It probably brought a few collectors to the vintage side of the hobby.
