Default 1952 Topps Set Break by BurlsSports.com ~ Break Tonight 9 CST! SOLD OUT

I am happy to offer a 1952 Topps Complete Set group break. Pricing is $75 per spot. Check out the listing for specific rules, more scans, and detailed condition information.

Link to listing

PayPal, Check, MO are all accepted.

Free shipping to US if you buy 2 spots. International shipping to Canada is $4 flat for bubble mailer shipping. I'll contact you if you hit a big card, as shipping may be a bit more. Sales tax charged in TN.

This is the third 1952 Topps set I have broken like this, and overall it is the best conditioned one of the three. Cards #1-310 range from VG to EX condition, while the majority of the high numbers are in GD to VG condition. The high number stars mostly have good eye appeal. Feel free to check out the listing for more scans.

UPDATE: Broadcast is set for Friday (8/17) night at 9 PM CST. Link to broadcast

In the interest of full disclosure, I did pay a fee to place this post in the main forum.

Let me know if you have any questions via PM or at burl@burlssports.com

Thanks,
Justin (Burl) Burleson

Hi Justin,

What % of the cards are graded vs ungraded ?

Also, this might be a question for the board as a whole, but how much do you think the Mantle is worth in that condition?

I'll have to count later, but about 80-100 graded cards would be my estimate.

As far as the value of the Mantle, I have $8500 in it to be transparent.

Thanks to those of you who have bought in!

As a business in the state of Tennessee, I am required by the Tennessee Department of Revenue to collect sales tax on in-state commerce.

Sorry for any inconvenience,

40% of spots sold at this point. Price cut on this break to try to move more of these spots out faster. $75 per spot. Partial refund coming for those who bought in at a higher price point.

Just bought two spots. Its way better odds than playing the lottery!!!

I was in a 1952 break of yours once before with a few spots, and watched the drawing live. Man, twice I missed one of the big cards by one pick, a big card was picked then I was the next pick!!!! Maybe this time I will be luckier!! But I got some of my money back when I sold what I got as I didnt get anything I wanted for my collection. I think its worth the gamble, and its fun, and it gives me something to look forward to!!

Thanks for buying in! At $75 a spot, pretty much every high number gets your value back. Thanks again!

I'm new when it comes to breaks, how does the selection process work? Will I be e-mailed my slot number before the break starts so I know when it's my turn? Or do you draw the names randomly for each card number?

No sweat. I'll have a list of 407 names (however many spots you bought, that is how many times your name will be in the list). I will randomize that list 3 times using random.org's list randomizer. Then I'll take the random list and paste it next to a checklist. The name that comes out #1, gets the #1 Pafko. Second name, gets card #2, and so on.

For a quick video to see it in action, you can check this '52 break from last year.

Can someone explain this set break thing to me? Is this kind of a raffle of sorts?

Take a complete set, sell every card for one price, you don't get to pick which card you get. 407 cards in the set, 407 spots in the break. I'll do a webcast of the randomization (using random.org to decide who gets which card) so every knows its legit and it adds a bit of anticipation to it as well. I posted a link in an earlier comment to a '52 Topps set break I did last year. It should give you a good idea of what it's like.

Thanks!

I grabbed two right at the end. Hopefully that leads to the high number section of the drawing.

Instead of using the $75 to buy a vg 1982 Fleer common from Dean's Cards, I jumped into this. Good luck (well, less luck than me), everybody.
