Default T206 Ames survey....AB 460....BL 460....red HINDU....UZIT

This 350/460 series Ames card is an elusive guy. I've searched for an American Beauty 460 card of this Ames for the past 7 years....but no luck.
I do not know of anyone who has (or has seen) this front/back combo....and, I have checked with a good number of T206 collectors.

Recently, this Ames was confirmed with a Sweet Caporal 350-460, Factory #42 back. My research indicates that the 31 subjects in the 350/460
series, and the 12 subjects in the 460-only series printed with this Sweet Cap back were also printed with the red HINDU backs. Therefore, I'm
curious if any Net54er has (or has seen) this Ames with a red HINDU back ?
If so, then this would suggest that Ames was never printed with an AB 460 back. And, I have been on a "wild-goose" chase all these years

Furthermore, does anyone on this forum have (or have seen) this Ames with a Broad Leaf 460 or UZIT back ?

. .

I really appreciate your inputs on this subject. The first one that helps me solve this Ames mystery will be rewarded with a T206 HOFer.

Well, well....does the lack of any responses here suggest that this Ames card(s) with any of these tough backs do not really exist ? ?

The Monster can play tricks with us....but, I find that these possible no-prints very puzzling.

Please chime in if you can add anything to this mystery. And remember that I will reward the first one that helps me solve this Ames
mystery with a T206 HOFer.

Hi Ted according to a checklist I have and not sure if you referenced which version of the Red Ames but the Hands Above Head does NOT have:

ABF 350, Drum, BL460, Br Len, or Red Hindu.

Pete

The PIEDMONT 460/42 is not in the mix of AB 460....BL 460....red HINDU....UZIT interrelationship.

However, thanks for your input.

Default T206 Ames survey....AB 460....BL 460....red HINDU....UZIT

Here are the T206 backs that we know for certain were printed on the Ames (hands above head) cards......

Cycle 460
El Principe de Gales
Lenox
Old Mill
Piedmont 350, Factory 25
Piedmont 350-460, Factory 25
Piedmont 350-460, Factory 42
Polar Bear
Sovereign 350
Sweet Caporal 350, Factory 25
Sweet Caporal 350, Factory 30
Sweet Caporal 350-460, Factory 25
Sweet Caporal 350-460, Factory 42
Sweet Caporal 350-460, Factory 42 (overprint)
Tolstoi

Regarding this Ames with the American Beauty 460 or the UZIT backs, no one here has yet to produce actual examples
of either of these two backs on this Ames card.

Therefore, until (and if) the above occurs, I expect Ames with a red HINDU will eventually surface....since Ames has been
confirmed with Sweet Caporal 350-460 Factory 42. These two backs have proven to be mutually related.

Default T206 Ames survey....AB 460....BL 460....red HINDU....UZIT

CARDTARGET lists 308 - Ames (hands above head) cards sold since 2008.

And, none of them were....AB 460, BL 460, red HINDU or UZIT.

Of course, due to the scarcity of the BL 460, red HINDU or UZIT backs, it is possible that an Ames card may still show up with any of these 3 backs.

I will post several more factors which further convince me that this Ames was NOT printed with an American Beauty 460 back. If this is true, then
most likely Ames will not be found with a UZIT back (AB 460 and UZIT backs are "kissing cousins" regarding T206 cards in the 350/460 series).

Stay tuned....more to come on this subject.

Default T206 Ames survey....AB 460....BL 460....red HINDU....UZIT

I guess my premise that the Ames (hands above head) card is a NO-PRINT with the AMERICAN BEAUTY 460 (AB 460) back appears to be valid.
As there have been no responses to this thread to prove otherwise.

Let's consider the following factors:

(1) There are no Ames (AB 460) cards graded by PSA or SGC.

(2) Scot Reader's survey of 100,000+ T206's does not include an Ames (AB 460) card.

(3) David Hall's near complete T206 master set does not include an Ames (AB 460) card.

(4) In my 8-year quest to complete the AB 460 sub-set, I have never seen an Ames (AB 460) card.

(5) Recently, this Ames was confirmed with a SWEET CAPORAL 350-460, Factory 42 (SC 460/42) back.
T206's in the 350-460 series (35 cards) printed with SC 460/42 are mutually exclusive with AB 460 cards.

Furthermore, SC 460/42 cards and red HINDU cards are mutually related. Therefore, I venture to predict that this Ames card
will eventually be discovered with a red HINDU back.

That's it folks.....I rest my case.....but, I'm still open to be proven wrong. So, any inputs on this subject are very appreciated.
