Default Ebay versus REA, almost real time comparison

Posted By: Max Weder

Here are two auctions of the same 1858 Baseball and Cricket book, one on REA, one on Ebay. The ebay one is in arguably better condition (not ex-library on front but with what appears non-original tape on binding: tough to tell for sure without looking in person at both books), and fetched less money ($1435 versus $1900, not including the buyer's premium)

Any other ebay auctions that have recently ended that can be similarly compared?

Max

1953 Topps #1 Jackie Robinson autograph from last month. A tad overpriced for it's condition, or so I thought.

REA 1953 Topps #1 Jackie Robinson autograph. I had figured $2,000-3,000 tops, wrong again. Definitely auction fever on this one.

1953 Topps #1 Jackie Robinson autograph, didn't sell.

1953 Topps #1 Jackie Robinson artwork, for what it's worth.

Stretching it a bit but 1913 Tom Barker game at REA and 1913 National Game on ebay. The REA set was generally graded as VG-EX to EX and the ebay set was all PSA graded at 6.18 (with a Cobb 7 and Jackson 6). The REA set went for $2,000....

and the ebay set went for $2200....
