Default My First T206

Posted By: Ray

Just bought my first T206 off of Ebay. Pretty exciting for me. I haven't rcvd it yet as I just won it last night. Did a board member sell it to me?

Admiral Schlei PSA 1
Polar Bear back

I can't upload the image but if you want you can check it out on my photobucket here - www.photobucket.com/gotsparks09 under Personal Collection -Vintage

Most of my photobucket is modern stuff, but I'm the process of selling/trading it all for 50s and earlier with a concentration on 30s and earlier

edited - had wrong link to scan

My Second T206 card was an Admiral Schlei Portrait with a Piedmont 350-460 Fac.25 back. I still own it. It's a great looking card.

I e-mailed the seller about this error earlier but nothing seems to be done about it.

If others do the same it might help.

As one aged passenger exclaimed to my wife during her first time ever on a ski lift, "You have just signed a hell of a contract".

Good luck.

Joe Tinker bat on shoulder was, I believe, the first T206 I ever bought. Bought it from a nice, young guy named Bill Mastro at a show in Kansas City. Wonder what ever happened to him?

I love those low graders as well! It's a glorious journey!
Patience; there's plenty of product out there.

My T206 odyssey began with Rhodes, Piedmont 350, VG-EX, $3.00, from The Baseball Card Shoppe in Claremont, California. A quarter century ago and I remember it like it was yesterday. Life has never been quite the same.

Purchased in January 1992, for the princely sum of $75. And I liked the back more than the front.

Thanks for the thumbs up fellas. It's cool seeing/hearing about your guys' first T206s. Like Hull said, I too like the back better than the front. I'd trade my first one for that bender or christy on the scans above if you're interested T206 Collector . Forgot to mention that mine is the portrait Schlei. Thanks agian, would love to hear more! - Ray
