Default Very Interesting ghost overprint (E126)

Posted By: Rhett Yeakley

I picked up the following item recently and it really intrigues me. The E126 Set is a pretty tough set, but the following Meusel looks like any other card from the front, but if you flip it over he has an exact ghost overprint on back (which when flipped over looks like a reversed negative). But what is really interesting (other than the fact that the ghosting is sooo dark) is that there is no evidence on back of the back print normally found on these cards, however on the front you can see the faint remnants of a reversed back wet transfer in the area where his name is (I blew up the scan but don't know how visible the back printing on front is.) Anyways, thought it was kind of a neat item.

Just for a reference here is a front/back scan of a regular card from the set.
