Just picked up this one via the BST.

It's the last unique front I needed for my Obak Los Angeles master team set. I'm still looking for five 1909 back variations before considering my set complete.

Pete,

That is a seriously nice Shoeless Joe E90-1, especially considering the technical grade. Add the red actually being where it should be, and you have a winner!

Congrats!!

Steve

Default postcards

Two postcard/trade cards (one with 1913 baseball schedule, one with interesting 1912 whiskey ad), plus two postcards of former Negro Leaguer, Mexican Leaguer, and Cuban Leaguer Pedro Formental (one signed, one not). For more, visit http://www.sportingoregon.com.

Love that Cy Young card. What great, deep color.

Wanted this image centered for a while...

Matt,

I was going to put in a bid on that last night, but between my 10 mo. old running a high fever and trying to finish up a project for work, I missed it before the normal bidding time ended.

Sweet card, and a pretty nice price at that. Congrats on the pickup!

CB,

Sorry to hear your kid had a fever-- those are rough nights. Yeah, a rare deal at Heritage. I think it might've been outshined by some of their more primo offerings. I put it up against the 3s and 4s on VCP before bidding and only one 4 had it beat. The centering really struck me from first sight. Usually has pretty rugged tilt and OC.

Very nice examples of both, Patrick. Congratulations on getting two beauties. I'm going to begin pursuing the set a little more aggressively. There's only 132 cards in the set, and not any cards that are extremely difficult to acquire.

Beautiful card Jay, looks pack fresh. Bold image, large borders, sharp corners . . . the only thing that has changed over the last 125yrs would be the black & white has become just a touch sepia toned. Congrats.

Dave, how is it that your son got a green Cobb before I did?!! No fair!

I like your Cobb set up...and I really like the way you framed the blanket.

Cockrell, congrats on your first cj...that's a beauty!

This is as close as I get to cards these days Picked up this great scrapbook with over 200 woodcuts of which ~20 are baseball portraits from the NY Clipper (1883 and after). It contains many sports including cycling, wrestling etc. as well as a bunch of actors. Definitely one of the most unique items that I have come across.

Cool postcard but I'm not so sure of the ID although the time is about right for Bing being at Gonzaga. Bing had some seriously distinct looking "attached" earlobes and the player in the postcard definitely doesn't appear to have his ears.

Default 1918 Salt Lake City Bees

I don't recall if I previously posted this print from an original glass plate negative I acquired of the 1918 Salt Lake City Bees. Former Portland Beavers manager Walter McCredie is wearing his Portland jersey. The African American at the lower left, the Bees trainer, is former heavyweight boxer Peter Jackson. I am sorry you got a lemon here. I hope the seller does not resell. Item in question attached.

My e95 set had a very nice weekend. 8 new cards, zero creases. Thanks again Scott!

Sweet E95s Luke. They look amazing (and very bright!) together.

A couple pickups of mine-
The Matty came a couple weeks back and the E220 Johnson was from Just Collect's listings tonight. I got a little trigger happy in the last seconds on the WaJo with eBay's one click bidding and went quite a bit higher than I'd intended, but am happy to pick it up.

I took German in college so had to get a Sanella card. And I think the blue on the M116's is stunning.

A big thank you to Ian for these two cards.

And my upgraded favorite card. I just can't stop looking at it!
