Default 2nd July Pick Up Thread

Posted By: CarltonHendricks

Here's a cool 26" plaster plaque of some sort, of a basketball player that I got today, but the arm and leg got broken in shipment....paid a whopping 99 cents, only bidder on eBay....I was going to send the guy some more money once I got it....but now that money will go toward restoration. I had a feeling it could get broke, plaster and odd shape. Has one bolt with nut on the back for fastening it to a backing/wall. Must have been some kind of advertising piece. What a shame it got damaged. I'd guesstimate it from the mid 1940's...no latter than the 40's, maybe late 30's, from the knee pad...at an advertising show I'd expect about a $250.00 price tag (in good shape). The seller made an effort to pack it well...but it takes more than an effort for a piece like this, it takes a strong commitment and keen packing skill.
