Default Steinbrenner Auto?

Picked this item up. Was curious if it's actually signed by George or secretarial. It's postmarked on the card from 1982. Thanks

Don't know if these will be of any help in determining authenticity, but these are Steinbrenner-signed baseballs offered for sale in the Yankees' team store. Presumably, authenticity is not an issue with these.

This last one is on display as part of the "Ball Wall" in the Yankees Museum in the team's present home ballpark.

I think that might be George Costanza.

So is that your way of saying no good? Comparing it to others 1980s examples I thought it looked similar.

Not positive but looks a little too neat to be the real George.

Here's a link to a "George" signed item that has a JSA sticker.

Don't know about Constanza, but Jason Alexander's signature is the bottom one:

I think that it is not authentic. It does not look sloppy like the rest of the signatures.

Malicious forgery or secretarial signature?

I found this one represented as genuine by a dealer who I understand to have a solid reputation in the industry...

Here are 2 that I have. I think that the letterhead is probably secretarial. I think that the thank you card is his authentic signature. Sorry for the crappy pictures, I took them with my phone.

Agree. I have a signed ball that looks nothing like the first one. It is more like those in the Yankee team store. I friend got his IP and same thing. if you can read each letter- no good IMHO.

I would say probably no on the original posted. I would say yes on the second one Jeff posted, the December 6, 1983 TNS. The ones I got in person and saw in person had the G looped as in the signed baseballs and Jeff's TNS. That also goes for the last name. A big looped S. Those Rhinehart style G's and S's do not look right. They are too formal cursive.

thanks guys.

I figured it would probably be a secretarial. Just thought it might have a chance considering it was sent to the councilman in Rhode Island at the time(have original envelope).
