It's interesting to me to see that the Cobb-Cobb back card and the Cobb tobacco tin each have the same $10,000 reserve, which suggests to me that these two items were possibly thought to be roughly equal in value.

Well, I think there's just a few tins known, so they have always been rarer. And yes, I think 15-20 years ago, they were similar value (25-30k-ish?)...someone, correct me if I'm wrong.
