Default How to date 1941 scorecard

Good afternoon All,

I recently purchased a 1941 Red Sox scorecard, but am unsure how to date it to a particular game. Are there any pages/telltale signs that can point one in the right direction? The opposition was the Yankees...

Post a good picture of the scorecard pages and I'll date it for you.

Or email me.

Many times programs have an upcoming schedule. This can help narrow down the time frame.

The best way is if there are pre printed line-ups. Many times you can take the starting line-up information and go to retrosheet.org and be able to figure out what game it was. Usually the starting pitchers are the best way to figure out a specific game.

A more difficult way is to look at the rosters and try to narrow down the time frame by the players listed. You will most likely not be able to figure out the exact game by this method.

Hope this helps.

Jeff

I just started looking for the "upcoming schedule," and noticed the original owner wrote in pencil "Sept. 20 1941 Fenway Park Boston, Mass). Ha! Thank you for the info Jeff!
