Default O/T RIP Bob Welch

I read on the internet tonight that former MLB pitcher Bob Welch passed away today at 57.

Bob Welch was the last pitcher to win more than 25 games in a season. In the early 1990's he had a season that he won 27 games. Great pitcher, tremendous talent... RIP Bob!

Welch also had an epic battle with Reggie Jackson as a 21 year old rookie in game 2 of the '78 WS with 2 on and 2 out in the top of the 9th. Welch eventually struck Jackson out. Here's hoping he's somewhere on the finest mound in the greenest park having a go at the likes of Cobb and Ruth.
